RE: Concerts I wish I'd seen
That's a long, long list: allman brothers closing the filmore east, clapton's rainbow concerts, the last waltz, Monterey pop festival, John Coltrane at the village vanguard, any number of Fillmore concerts including grateful dead and allman brothers jamming together, grateful dead at Cornell university in 77, rashaan Roland Kirk, Charlie Parker, and other jazz legends in the village, and on and on...

I know, just thinking back on all the greats I missed and could have seen.

I've got that one on vinyl. Haven't played it for a while, but I play it LOUD. Great take on dr. john's "walk on gilded splinters."

Never seen U2, ever.

Wish I had seen The Beatles at the Coliseum just so I could say I did. Mom wouldn't let me go with the family across the street who drove up from Arkansas that day. I reminded her of that when she asked me to take her to see Englebert down in Tunica 40 years later.

03-lmfao Missing the Beatles is one thing, missing Engelbert is an entirely different level of disappointment.

I could have seen Mott the Hoople on their 1973 tour, with Queen as the opening act. I didn't. That's tragic.

No kidding, she still tours all over Europe, Russia and the UK. She still wears black leather pants, not that you would care about that.

RE: Concerts I wish I'd seen
I am taking my Lovely Bride to see a couple of groups that we have never seen for our anniversary. Def Leppard and Styx in "The Rock". I cannot believe in all the years that I lived in Los Angeles that I never went to see either. Oh, well, looking forward to it. I wish I could have seen Thin Lizzy and Boston when they first lit it up.

You should be shot and not allowed to ever post again, or visa versa. What were you thinking? 04-chairshot

Oh well, I had a chance to party with Bon Jovi when I was working security at the Coliseum and Slippery When Wet went #1 and I said no. Richie Sambora looked at me like I was nuts. He was like, are you sure....

A bunch of us clip board carrying types got to see some really good concerts back in the day working security at Mud Island, Orpheum and Coliseum.

Re Mott: Tell me about it. And my hair look like Ian Hunter's, except longer. Damn

Worse for me, Status Quo opened TWICE for ZZ Top here in Memphis in the summer of 75...TWICE!

All the could have been's...but passing up partying with Bon Jovi? Dude....

I worked at the Coliseum from 1980-1987 part time and like you, got to see everything that came through there. Moved to the Pyramid for the first two years it was open. Then the mega shows started coming to town.

That doesn't seem outrageous, just high.
