I don't usually like corporate names but am I the only one that would actually prefer one compared to the St. Petersburg Bowl? It just doesn't roll off the tongue like "Orange Bowl" or "Rose Bowl."
And playing games in a baseball stadium also must seems strange to the players and the fans. Imagine having an awkward obstructed view behind a flagpole.

It really depends on the baseball stadium. There's a novelty to places like Yankee Stadium, Fenway Park, and Wrigley Field. But Tropicana is just a hellhole.

That place has the shabbiest football field I know of. They should call that game the "Hellhole Bowl"... they could use this as their theme song.

There might have been a novelty in playing in the actual Yankee Stadium but that went away when they moved into the new park. Now it's nothing more than a bowl game in a baseball stadium.

I went to that bowl a few years ago. Surprisingly the site lines are pretty good, as the seats that would be bad are not used.
Bring back the Copper Bowl, the All-America Bowl, Bacardi Bowl (played in Cuba), the International Bowl (in Toronto), heck bring back some of the most iconic bowl names there are.
IIRC, the New Years 6 Bowls made a 'rule' that those bowls HAVE to be called by a bowl name, not just a corporate name. So the Chick-fil-a Bowl went back to the Peach Bowl (or Chick-fil-a Peach Bowl).

I think we're a few years away from a game in Cuba happening again. Also, the historical Bacardi Bowl was played by US teams versus Cuban teams in most cases. I wonder who actually owns the rights to that name now, if anyone since the bowl has been defunct for like 60 years.
The logistical issues that pop up with the Bahamas Bowl makes international bowls seem like more trouble than they're worth.
I vastly prefer St. Petersburg Bowl to any corporate name. I don't have a problem with advertising, but bowl names should be constant and develop history (even the less well known ones). I actually like that it feels there a bit of a push back (few smaller tier bowls with less emphasis on corporate sponsors and the Peach coming back).
As for in baseball stadiums, I must be in the minority, but I actually like the idea, at least for the right stadiums. If you are going to play a lower tier bowl game in New York, I'd rather be in Yankee Stadium with the novelty of a football game there than an NFL stadium where it feels like a small time thing in between NFL games.

Toronto's Bowl had the same issues, which is why it is now defunct. We know what has to happen now...it's time for Florida to annex the Bahamas. That would make perfect sense as well.

The St Pete stadium is terrible for baseball and football.

Does anyone remember the Astro Blue Bonnet bowl? It was played in the Astrodome.
Who builds a dome for baseball in a place like Florida? The Rays first off should be moved away to a better MLB market but aside from that, if they are gonna be in Tampa Bay, should be on the water in Downtown Tampa.

I remember the game but don't like the name, which is why I didn't mention it, though it's 100 times better than the generic "Texas Bowl" or "Houston Bowl," let alone a random corporate name to contradict my OP.
It should be called the Bayou City Bowl or Astro/Space Bowl but they probably wouldn't want it to be confused with a bowl in Louisiana or the Houston Astros respectively.

Tampa Bay is sprawl so there is no ideal location, but some locations are better than others and Tampa is closer to the area population center. But the city rivalries are bad.
The idea behind the dome was the heat, humidity, and afternoon thunderstorms. Still adds up to a bad situation.
