We get no respect even when we win those games. I think that it's only a matter of time before there won't be anymore P5 vs G5 bowl games.

Good season USM. Glad to see you guys back on track. Are you losing much for next season? I know there were quite a few JUCOs and transfers on the roster.

Offensively, we lose the majority of our production at the skill positions...We lose Martin and Thomas at WR and Richard at RB, who was also integral in the passing game.

I believe we lose two OL as well. Mullens will be back at QB, but he needs to work on his footwork....badly. Very heavy feet in the pocket.

At RB, we return Ito Smith who should only improve, but USM is going to have to find a "1B" RB to come in, as I don't think Smith can be a "feature back".

Defensively we lose Dylan Bradley on the DL, a couple of LBs, and CB Kalan Reed who probably had the best season for a CB at USM in over 10 years.

There should be a solid group returning to keep from having a drop off, but it will be all about having playmakers step up and replace what we're losing and finding a way to get better on the OL and more quality depth on the DL.

As noted on offense we lose 1 of our 2 1,000 yard rushers from this year in Richard but Ito will be back. Our biggest losses on offense will be WRs Thomas and Martin. We signed several JuCo receivers and the most touted one of the bunch (McNair) from his on field production will have 3 years of eligibility. OL lost both tackles so that will be the next biggest hole. On Defense we lose 2 DL, 2 LB and 1 DB. We have depth to plug the DL and DB positions but LB will probably be a JuCo signing. Lastly, our schedule should benefit us CUSA wise as we open the season with 3 of our 4 OOC games so hopefully that gives us time to gel before conference games start.

The PAC is pretty strong this year and Washington looked like a solid team to me. Both of their lines were very good. The 6-6 Illinois team we dominated last year was not nearly as good as that Husky team.

I didn't see any of our teams losing badly to anyone in the bowls. I must have missed something.

Great season USM. Great to see you back, and just think, next year you will be prohibitive west favorites and maybe even CUSA favorites.

Glad to see USM back playing for championships. CUSA is better with a good Golden Eagle program. Played their butts off against a solid Washington team. No shame there. I look forward to many WKU vs USM games in the future!

However all of us in the know will swear it was because school was out for the holidays, it was raining, weather was too hot, rabbit season was in full swing, Dallas is too far, Washington just happened to play over their heads, our offensive coordinator just left, they didnt serve tacos at the team dinner, our team quit before kickoff and most importantly we all saw the the officials were crooked and biased toward the West. Just no way to beat those odds.

Funny same thing happened at the USM/Tech game this year 03-puke 04-cheers

At least UAB doesn't have to worry about bowls or championships.

No but we beat you ass like a red headed step child last time we played and it was fun drowning out what was left of your fans.

Dude, I was pulling for USM and pull for all our teams. Why did you have to go there?

Dylan Bradley is a Junior.

You forget that we lost George Payne prior to the year starting. He was our projected #1 back, with Richard and Ito behind him. We will be fine at RB.

We have great WRs coming in, or played behind Martin and Thomas.

Our concern area's are LB on D. And Tackles on offensive. Everywhere else will be solid.

I'm glad that beating a historically bad USM team is still the high point in UAB's existence. Of course, with an all time FBS record of 66-110, no conference titles, and only one bowl berth (which you lost), there's not much else to hang your hat on.

Yes, assumed Bradley was a sr. b/c it seems like I've heard his name called for 5 years now.

Heard Payne might not get to play football again....Which is why I didn't bring him up.

You can assume that we will be fine at the skill position places, but there's no certainty there until we see it.

You do realize that both Martin and Thomas shattered DeAndre's single season reception record right? I believe he had 63 (or 69) his freshman season. Martin had 80 and Thomas had 71. To think that's going to happen next year is not giving enough credit to the play of Thomas and Martin.

I spoke to George, he is clear to play and says he feels as good as ever.

Martin and Thomas were great. And in no way do I mean to take anything away from them. I just believe in the system we run, and the QB that's throwing the ball. Have also seen a couple of the new WRs play. After watching McNair for one possession, I knew we would be fine in the slot. He will put up Casey Martin type numbers. Don't have a good answer for replacing Thomas. But do believe we have 3-4 guys that have the potential, DJ Thompson will fill the WR1 position, with Korey Robertson filling DJs roll.
