The team has looked like a deer in headlights at these bowl games. They look overmatched, lethargic, and extremely ill-prepared. What the hell does this team do to prepare and get psyched for these games? Spend the day drinking chamomile tea and dozing off in a recliner?

I know NIU can't afford to buy out Carey's contract. Keep one more year then good bye. Wish someone would offer him, but not going to happen. He has no people skills. We have a soft schedule next year, and might have a descent record. This may keep Carey around another year.

If he won yesterday nobody would say anything. Gregg Popovich has zero people skills and mocks the media and his team constantly. I'll take Carey over PJ Fleck and his antics. I want the coach to win football games and that's it.

Say what you want about Carey's history in bowls, to me that is meaningless, its just another game. What no one can deny that is that yesterday's game was in a whole other galaxy to any previous disappointments. There are 2, and only 2 options to explain what we saw yesterday. A) Coach Carey was incredibly incompetent in preparing his team for the game or B) The team has tuned him out and given up. Those are the only two options to explain what unfolded yesterday. Either way, it doesn't bode well for Coach Carey and his future at NIU.

I understand that the Huskies were not exactly favored to win their last four bowl games, but they have fallen way short of even covering the spread. The Huskies started a freshman QB. Well, so did BSU.

Unlike previous bowl losses to FSU, TCU, and Marshall, Boise State is not anywhere near the top 25. This was downright embarrassing.

Boise started a 4-star freshman QB. There is the difference. This all goes back to quality of recruits.

This game obviously goes way beyond quality of recruiting, way way beyond. This was a case of a coach not having his team ready to play, and players not particularly interested in playing. Not sure where most of the blame goes but I don't think it can be overstated how embarrassing this was. Worst FBS lost by an FBS team to another FBS since 2000, that is just sobering.

I'd be very very surprised if Carey is gone. Cole on the other hand I think is gone.

I doubt Carey is going anywhere also. His assistants will turn over a little bit based on the performance over these past few games. Luckily, our team is still very young and the youth shows a lot of promise.

One thing that stands out in some of the recent losses is the speed. Strength, speed, and size were all at Boise's advantage. Coaching can only do so much when they are out-manned

That for sure falls on Rod. There was a real opportunity to capitalize following the 2012 season on recruiting quality. 2013 and 2014 should have seen a boost in 3 star recruits. Even if one subscribes to stars not making much of a difference in play, it does on a schools image.
3 & 4 star recruits attract other 3/4 star recruits. Kids see the quality of their co-recruits and realize that's the direction the program is headed.

That window has closed.

I think Rodney should be given another year if he is forced to fire his OC
