Further proof that Pastner is a genius. It appears he has a plan in place to miss out on top talent going forward as well. He is crafty!

Yep.

Think of where the program would be with that overrated Haitian.

Probably have losses to UTSA and Ole Miss.

Oh wait...

Somehow he'd be worse. There's no reason to believe he'd be any better, that's for sure. He'd be worse. Probably tendonitis.

True - but he did not pass on Skal. Skal did not want to play here.

I think I'm past the point of thinking players go where they "want to play". I think Skal went to the school that funded whatever bs nonprofit his "guardian" wanted funded.

Anyone know who funded the non-profit?05-stirthepot

I hear Brookhaven place is THE PLACE for Big Blue watch parties!!!

I think we should all be glad Skal didn't wind up here. We would definitely be staring a NCAA investigation in the face.

Wrong ....... Cal's playing him out of position.

He doesn't play center. He's almost always played at the top of the key or outside.

Tippet didn't play him down low.

He plays more like a European stretch 4.

Austin was working on his outside shot but not to the level Skal was already at.

Skal can't shoot well enough to be a stretch 4 in college. I don't care where Tippet played him. Cal is playing him where he should play him which is in the post

No kidding --- the haters would keep 4 or 5 threads going on this alone. In addition to the others --

In his first year ? No he wouldn't. In fact the same people that are here bashing Cal would be saying that he hasn't played organized ball in two seasons. Besides we've got our own McDonald's all american that's been here for 3 years that hasn't improved.

If Skal was playing like he is under Pastner - and you don't think folks here wouldn't use that fact to bash Pastner in mutiple threads --- feel free.

Of course they would, but it's a sad point in his career when folks are using a player he didn't sign as a roundabout way to defend him.

Nobody is blaming Pastner for Nick Marshall.

I don't know if you're referring to me...but in no way did I start this thread to defend Pastner.

Carry on

If Skal was here we would have been ranked to start the season and there would have been a bunch more Season tickets sold...
If we still had 3 losses at this point Pastner would be getting killed worse than he is now but the program would be in better shape.

I think that's right --- there would have been more excitement going into the season and about 4 or 5 *Pastner is ruining Skal threads* on the board now.

In all fairness, Nick wasn't suppose to be the #1 pick and contend for the Naismith Award ...

If we were willing to pay off Hamilton then Skal would be here today. Skal has a loooong way to go before he is NBA ready. Twice with in a few seconds he made he same stupid move and had the ball stolen. Tried to back down and dribble into a triple team in the lane.

But wasn't he a Top 5 in the nation recruit ??? Five-Star !!! One and done, NBA allstar in the making !!!

Maybe those rankings aren't all they're cracked up to be !!!

Let's wait and see what happens before we starting getting snarky. I'd be willing to bet he's drafted high...
