RE: Bowie Redshirting
Yes, you can transfer anywhere if you've graduated and have eligibility. Key will probably be the starting power forward next year. I agree Key will back up Maric sum but Noah McCarthy will get some minutes. Zelis is the only guy that isn't getting any minutes. Monty was right on all the guys he brought in except Zelis. Your not going to be right about all recruits. And, I agree, Zelis does not seem like a D1 player at this point.

I believe that the rule is supposed to allow for transfer to a school that offers a major that is not offered at your present institution.

Madddawg, Bowie may not be going anywhere but if he doesn't someone on the current roster is. So you tell us who's leaving after this year?

I don't know why people continue to follow his rationale for things. Bowie could very well transfer is he thinks he will not get the same kind of minutes that he used to.

RE: Bowie Redshirting
Everyone relax, It was the best decision for Bowie and I am sure Bowie knows the situation with scholly's available. The reality is that anything can happen, a player could transfer (which happens all the time in college basketball), two players can get half scholarships, etc. I don't know what will or could happen, but if Bowie would barely play this year anyhow from injury, you may as well redshirt him as sees what happens, and yes he could transfer but he may not..heck, having to pay one year of school out of 5 isn't the end of the world either

Division I rules do not allow splitting scholarships in basketball or football (this ain't baseball).

Bowie redshirting will definitely help this team with depth next year, when they will need it most since they will more than likely be contending for a MAC championship
