I am critical. There's a lot to be critical of. But I take joys in the (few) victories, and do not spin everything I can against EMU.

I am sorry you get that impression. It is virtually impossible to find anything positive about the football program. I am very proud of the direction of the basketball program. We are not there yet but with the MAC's next NBA player on the roster, good things are right around the corner and I was a harsh critic of Murphy in the past. I have sat through 20 straight non-winning football seasons. You have to either have a mental disorder or some weird OCD affliction to stay on board with that disaster of a program. The latest attendance figures have been released by the NCAA and EMU came in dead last, down 67% from last year, averaging fewer than 5,000 per game. It pains me to say it, but it might be best to put this dog to sleep. We had one last chance to get it right and we hired Lyke and Creighton and that pretty much sealed the program's fate. My problem is that I am too damned honest.

This is the reality Bob, which I can confirm as well. Instead of being thankful that the coaches you hate, gave your preferred QB a lot of extra chances, you choose to make up nonsense off the top of your head, about something you know nothing about, and spin it to criticize the coaches and the program.

As far as your constant criticism of Creighton specifically, that is the icing on the clueless Bob cake. The guy just finished his second season at one of the historically worst programs in D1. The job has been widely acknowledged as one of the toughest in D1. The previous coach was fired, and not only left a program devoid of talent, but also one with an apparent culture of abuse, that needed to be rebuilt from the ground up.

To expect much in years 1 and 2 is asking a lot, to expect the coach to be fired after year 2 is idiotic. Years 3 and 4 will tell the tale about Creighton & Co. All indications from the inside say he is competent, committed, and the players respect and respond to him. All the Bob vitriol is simply uninformed trolling, and fantasy wishes that EMU is somehow going to shower money on some big time coach to come in and make all his dreams come true.

EMU doesn't have the resources, facilities, fan or student support, or big time boosters to make a big time splash. At best, this is a slow and steady climb back to respectability, built on a solid foundation. Step 1 is 4+ wins next year and a much improved defense.

Bob's constant vitriol and uninformed nonsense just begs the question why anyone engages him in dialogue. What's the point? He is a broken record of disproportionate angst and hatred not only for the football program in general but Coach Creighton on a personal level.

That's a valid point HuronRob. My personal answer, the guy just rubs me the wrong way with his constant negativity and dishonesty.

Being new to the board, I'd like to bring good information to the conversation, and have honest discussions about all things good and bad.

I have definitely seen the tide turn against Bob this year, and hopefully that inspires him to take a look in the mirror, and either contribute like the rest of us, or go find something better to do.

If he wants to stick around and continue to act like a troll, he should expect to be treated like a troll.

I get what you're saying. Really, I do. I'm saying if everyone puts him on their ignore list he will have no impact on this board. Most people try to keep things positive but he is the mot negative person I have seen. His ignorant comments won't appear and he my just slink away.
