Congrats Pirates for a good win...hopefully it turns out to be a good win for them. UNCW didn't adjust to the way the game was officiated and gave up 30 more free throws and after reading about it....our Hawks had serveral technical fouls so apparently they lost their cool too. That's it in a nutshell-you lose that in that situation mostly every time even if you out rebound and get 20 or so more shots (don't remember the box). Regardless, congrats on the win. I couldn't watch the game because I do volunteer work on Wednesday's at the church so I'm glad that I missed the game.
You have to come to play every night and not be over-confident when you're favored to win on a rivals home court. I knew that this would be a tough game going in and ECU wanted to win on their home court to end their losing streak to the Hawks. UNCW has 6 new players this year so this was not going to be an overnight thing even with Keatts. Games like this will keep Kevin here for a bit longer since the NCAA's is now a tourney situation for UNCW and I knew that this would take some time. Since Keatts will likely be here now after this debacle, the Hawks will likely now get their superstar now from Raleigh, Fornes (and he IS a Superstar 2 man/Steph 2 that can absolutely shoot/score/scary good!-see link) and the local big kid that's also killing it. To me, that's huge because when you get difference makers to augment to this freshmen class of 4, plus the 3 star PG sitting, it's going to be fun.
My suggestion is...let it go. They won. Give them credit for winning a rivalry game-they deserve credit for sure because they won the game. And let's not say that ECU is bad because that's just not true at all. We lost. UNCW apparently had many chances to win, but couldn't make a 3 ball. Well, that's part of the game and missed 3 balls are because of either bad looks (not inside out or drive and kick or good D-so you have to give some credit there). Regardless, you have to step up and hit them and it's not that difficult, if you execute. Onto Radford...have they learned their lesson yet? I'm sure that Keatts ran them to death after this debacle.

NCSU definitely does, at least their fans and players from the east do.
I know a ton of State guys and not one of them consider ECU to be anything other than another regional state school with a half ass football team. Get over it-never gonna happen for ECU. They also feel the same way about UNCW sports in general. If UNCW beats them in any sport it is a super bowl type win and nothing to them.
Arguing over the schools is foolish. The legislature and BOG control the whole UNC system and every campus. NC State and UNC Chapel Hill are designated as THE top schools in the system. If growth were allowed to happen naturally, UNCW would in short time rival any school in the system in both size, funding and athletics. Heck, it was practically impossible to get the BOG to change the mission statement of UNCW to allow for additional doctoral programs beyond the ones that were designated in the prior mission statement. UNCW was the only school in the system which was limited to only existing doctoral programs in its mission statement.
I will tell you this. We now have a Chancellor who isn't content with UNCW remaining where it is, and he is expected to press very hard to expand our school while he is here.
Regardless of what the regional ACC teams consider ECU it really doesn't matter to me as long as we continue to lay the wood when we play them. However, I guarantee that every time we set records (the 70 points & 800 yards put up on the Heels last year are the most against them all time) and embarrass them the more they want to beat us and the more they care. When you beat VT, UNC & NCSU each multiple times in a row then they start to dislike you & their 'superiority complex' just reveals their need to compensate for continuously being taken to the woodshed.
