Southern Mississippi: 1. @ La Tech
Charlotte: 1. @ Georgia St
Middle Tennessee: 1. Marshall
Marshall: 1. USM

The conference was incredibly weak this year. I honestly believe that this year's Marshall team would have been 3-5 or 4-4 in conference if we were in the old version of CUSA.

So, you would of had a hard time against 0-12 UCF, 5-7 ECU, 2-10 SMU or 3-9 Tulane?

Yes, you may have struggled against Memphis, Tulsa or Houston just as you did against WKU and MT but you likely wouldn't have played all three of those former CUSA teams.

Well put. I get tired of hearing the 'old' CUSA bull**** in response to anything remotely wrong with current performance. Get over it.

If you think Marshall would lose to Tulane, ECU, or UCF... then you're freakin crazy.

I get tired of watching the recruiting classes go down every year since realignment.

Recruiting rankings matter just about as much as pre-season top 25 polls.

According to 247

Marshall's Recruiting Class Rank:
2011 – 62
2012 – 73
2013 – 56
2014 – 62
2015 – 77

But as others have noted, recruiting rankings are typically meaningless.

RE: C-USA victories over bowl bound teams
The east was Memphis, USM, UCF, ECU and UAB along with Marshall, but that's not the point. ECU this year, even losing their starting QB and his backup, is better than Charlotte, ODU, UNT, FAU and FIU. UAB, had they stayed on the field, would have been better than all those teams (and wku, Indiana and a few other schools would have been worse because of it). UCF had a horrific year, but year in year out, better. Cross over games wouldn't have been USM, but we would have played them anyway, may have been Houston may have been Tulsa, who knows, but whoever it was would have been better than UNT this year.

Middle and wku are good teams, but the depth in the east is horrid and the west is a little worse. Hopefully next year is better, but this year the conference was horrible.

UAB would've likely had a 7-9 win year due to how weak CUSA was this year and how our OOC schedule was laid out.

We had South Alabama (5-7), @Troy (4-8), Georgia State (6-6) (I think it was GSU?), and Tennessee (8-4) at a neutral site on the schedule. We also would have been in the West. I figured we would've likely gone 3-1 OOC and probably 5-3 in CUSA depending on who we played as our East teams.

Sucks to think about.

LSU and Indiana (yes, the Hoosiers are bowling) are our 2 losses.

It's hard to argue with the Marshall fans in this thread.

Marshall was the 6th best team we played this year and they won 9 games.

Yep, and wku didn't lose a conference game, something that never happened in the last version of the conference.

OOC wins:

2013 - 27
2014 - 29
2015 - 21

This was a bad year for the conference.
