I know for a fact that it went down that way. I'm not the one relying on a false article

The fact that you think you know more than The Advocate is just 03-lmfao

I have fsu sources. Not going off bs articles from the programs state that needs to save face

Now jrsec is acting like finebaum would support fsu and go against lsu on purpose. Man you are desperate. So butthurt that Jimbo turned down lsu even though in reality fsu is the better job with the way better history

For the record I don't want Finebaums show. He is a moron and huge fsu hater. So for him to say Jimbo turned down lsu multiple times on ESPN college football live and sportscenter says a lot.

It's not a money issue with fsu. Jimbo is the 5th highest paid coach. Miles is 9th.

I haven't been arguing otherwise. I am ACC and FSU neutral. I don't like anything that has anything to do with the SEC.

My point.....and it is a huge one....is that this is the first time that I can recall seeing a state government politics/budget issues this severely impact a large, land grant state school's football program like LSU's and hamstring what they wanted to do.

It IS a huge issue, and LSU boosters are livid because LSU football is self-funded. But the politicians recognize that the public doesn't make those distinctions about the funding of LSU athletics.

The new governor is going to convene a special session of the legislature in February to discuss a $1 billion Jindal deficit. If LSU had spent $30 million to buy out Miles and to lure Jimbo away from FSU, it would make it very awkward for them to go before the legislature and plead to not have their budget cut or to get more money than Jindal has been giving them. The optics would be very bad. It would probably take less than two minutes for a legislator to ask "if LSU is in such desperate financial straits, why did you just spend $30 million on football coaches"? Or "if you are saying that new research facility you want is so important to the school's mission and therefore we should raise taxes or cut medicaid to fund it, why didn't you spend the $30 million you just gave Miles and Jimbo on it"?

That's reality, and those boosters, many of whom probably voted for Jindal, can thank him for it.

You have nothing but a big FSU symbol as your signature, meaning you are deeply invested in FSU pride and WANT to believe that Jimbo chose to remain at your little-brother, second-banana school in the least of the P5 conferences over an SEC flagship like LSU.

But sorry, that's not how it happened.

You can repeat that fantasy until you are blue in the face, but it will never make it true. 07-coffee3

Paul Finebaum hates fsu and loves the sec and he said it

Also you can trust a pro sec article while ignoring many other articles and analysts all you want. And hate on fsu too while ignoring all that data that proves you to be an idiot
Paul Finebaum has made his money by twisting the truth for sensationalism all of his yellow journalistic life. He is a Memphis born Tennessee grad who muck raked everything that upset the Bammer fan base. I had family inside the works at the SEC for a few decades. Finebaum lied, or twisted the truth, on many stories over the years to produce the furor that would light up his phone lines on the radio program. The jerk encouraged the Harvey Updikes of the world by giving those morons airtime and then challenging them and their demented minds on the radio, and then when one (Harvey Updike) calls back in to say he poisoned a schools iconic trees Paul (who is a law grad) suddenly acts offended (to cover his butt) and turns it into a national media event that he gets to speak about thereby feeding his notoriety.

Right now he is positioning himself within ESPN to go national by badmouthing the conference that gave him the opportunity. There are some great people in the South as there are in every region of the country. Our universities turn out a lot of fine folks. If you listen to, or watch, the Paul Finebaum show you would never know they existed. He thrives on riling up those who never attended one of the schools of the SEC but call into his show to give their best impression of being a Jerry Springer guest. I think our country already has to many divisive liars making profits off of disturbing the peace and lying about reality.

Now he has baited some of the same from the Big 10 to call in and join the fray.

If you cite Paul Finebaum as your source on anything I pity you when somebody who has real sources, or does their homework, comes in to challenge you. Remember next time you listen to Paul that he is just a more successful version of the Dude of West Virginia, MHVer3, Tuxedo Yoda, or Greg Fluguar. He preys on the gullible and tries to shock everyone else. I wouldn't be surprised if someone found a big picture of Howard Stern hanging in his day room.

There are a lot of the "shock jocks" out there, especially in the political world. They twist or spin the truth to fit their agenda & people are gullible enough to fall for it & take what they say as gospel. I've always found it beneficiary to to study both sides & take in multiple perspectives & then form my own opinion. The Finebaums, Limbaughs & Moores of the world should be taken as entertainment, or at least as a starting point in your study of the issue & as your sole reference.

You have one article from the home state of the program which is trying to save face

On top of that you are a 5th banana fan who hates fsu and has no credibility. You know absolutely nothing on the situation. You are just a loser who spends all day stirring stuff up behind your anonymity on the Internet

You are wrong here. So many other sources shot this article down and you relying on it just makes you look stupid

You clearly do not understand the Advocate's reporting at all. Your ignorance is appalling.

You are just a puff-chest FSU homer desperate to believe a fantasy.
