I thought they said they had no control over that?

If Reynolds was a QB at a "Power 5" school we wouldn't be having this conversation.

"The Heisman Memorial Trophy annually recognizes the outstanding college football player whose performance best exhibits the pursuit of excellence with integrity. Winners epitomize great ability combined with diligence, perseverance and hard work."

There is not a player anywhere in CFB who deserves that description more than Keenan Reynolds. The fact that he has no shot to win the award is a travesty.

But, his stats were nothing mind blowing. The reason people here are mad is because he's plays for Navy. I guess Quinton Flowers should be considered too since his stats are arguably better....I don't get it.

Keenan Reynolds 2015 stats:
Pass: 54% completion for 934 yard 6td 1int
Rush: 1,093 for 19 tds

Quinton Flowers 2015 stats:
Pass: 61% completion for 2,023 yard - 20tds 8 int
Rush: 883 and 10 Tds.

He was hurt for almost half the season

The point of this controversy is the fan vote leader being knocked off the front page for the "experts' picks" with the added point that the AAC candidate doesn't fit the ESPN major conference narrative.
They have since made the fan vote front page reflect the fan vote leaders, which is a win.
Of your examples, the only possible parallel is a Northwestern student athlete being in that position because the fans love a real student athlete, and the ESPN pundit vote not reflecting same and a grassroots movement wanting him back on. In that case, yes I probably would go vote for him just to stick it to the man.
Should Keenan be in the actual Heisman conversation? Absolutely. If the frontrunner is Henry, Keenan has one fewer rushing TD, and more when you add his passing TDs. If you want to compare "traditional" QB stats, Mayfield or Watson look better, but then you should talk "system" which the establishment pundits have been using against Keenan. The argument that he is most valuable to his offense/team should then come into play, and he does as much or more decision-wise than anyone - check any post game quotes of opposing coaches. You should talk career - nothing in the criteria says single-season - so the career TD leader should be in the conversation. If you don't think career totality is a factor in any or all Heisman decisions, you are deluding yourself.
What does the Heisman Trust mission statement say? "Excellence with integrity." Mic dropped.

I put a vote up for him out of principle. Hopefully you guys see that regardless of the fact that ESPN carries your league, at the end of the day they protect their properties in a specific order. They want Henry to win the award and it makes them mad that dumb fans aren't supporting their SEC/Alabama narrative.

Btw, great posts from the Navy contengient concerning the run of less than ethical winners.

Dead heat at 35% a few minutes ago. Looks like the media attention got the Bama SEC fans engaged. Go ahead and vote if you feel like sticking it to the man (ESPN and p5)
