Heisman House vote takes Keenan Reynolds off ballot, still leads!
You have to write him in as a vote, which is an option if you scroll down on the voting page.

There's some weird **** going on there. They take the leader off the ballot, and then when you go to write-in the American is at the very bottom of the conference list for no reason. Navy is near the bottom of the teams for the conference too

Voted.
Reynolds has 39%. The next closet guy has 22%.
Why did they strip the leader off of the voting block? Why is "American" at the bottom of the list?
I call shenanigans, and looked it up...
The list is made up of 10 ESPN "experts" who decide who the favorites are for the Heisman. If you are not one of the favorites on ESPN expert list, you get stripped from the page. So it is a "fan vote" at the end of the day, but ESPN "experts" get to decide who appear on the list that you vote for.

Kudos to Navy for calling them out on it.

Honest question, with no AAC bias please. If he wasn't the QB for Navy, would this be a big deal? If he was the QB for Northwestern, Utah or Wisconsin, would you care?

If Reynolds was a QB at a "Power 5" school we wouldn't be having this conversation.
"The Heisman Memorial Trophy annually recognizes the outstanding college football player whose performance best exhibits the pursuit of excellence with integrity. Winners epitomize great ability combined with diligence, perseverance and hard work."
There is not a player anywhere in CFB who deserves that description more than Keenan Reynolds. The fact that he has no shot to win the award is a travesty.

But, his stats were nothing mind blowing. The reason people here are mad is because he's plays for Navy. I guess Quinton Flowers should be considered too since his stats are arguably better....I don't get it.
Keenan Reynolds 2015 stats:
Pass: 54% completion for 934 yard 6td 1int
Rush: 1,093 for 19 tds
Quinton Flowers 2015 stats:
Pass: 61% completion for 2,023 yard - 20tds 8 int
Rush: 883 and 10 Tds.

Well, a lot of this though is the question of what qualifies as a Heisman worthy stats? Career or single season? Years ago Roger Staubach called out KR as an exceptional player and person long before he was ever really in any Heisman conversations.
Plus it is difficult to compare QBs with run dominate systems to those of pass dominate systems. Keenan has better numbers than Eric Crouch who won the Heisman. He has better numbers than Tim Tebow. Big difference is BSC/P5 vs. G5 teams.
Navy has made a big push to emphasize the "excellence with integrity" aspect of the Heisman Trust. Consider this article: Quote:“Excellence with integrity?” It sure didn’t seem that way when the Heisman Trophy was awarded to Jameis Winston in 2013. He was an outstanding football player whose performance exhibited the pursuit of excellence with no regard for integrity. He was a source of embarrassment to Florida State and college football, from the shoplifting to the vulgar comments on campus to the sexual assault allegations by a female student that are now the subject of an upcoming CNN documentary that Winston is trying to stop from airing.
Quote:“Excellence with integrity?” That hardly seemed the case in 2012, when Johnny Manziel, whose drinking and law-breaking resume was as legendary as his play on the field. According to The New York Times, Manziel was subject to random drug testing, drug and alcohol counseling and community service requirements while at Texas A&M and still accepted the Heisman Trust’s honor.
Quote:“Excellence with integrity?” Really? Was that in play in 2011 when Cam Newton was on stage in New York accepting the Heisman Trophy? The quarterback who reportedly was sold to the highest bidder by his father to Auburn after he had faced expulsion at Florida for getting caught cheating three times, according to ESPN?
I hope he wins. I doubt he will. But is has been really awesome just having any Navy player in the conversation in December.

Reynolds success, like many option QB's, aren't measured by pure stats. His success is measures on the decisions he makes and how he orchestrates the offense. If defense is geared up to stop him and he only gets 10 yards but the wing backs get 200 yards, it will be a terrible stat line but fantastic game by him.
