RE: Impressed with Pastner Halftime interview
Pastner is now getting mad at random crap because it impresses people like you. He should be smart enough after this many years coaching a prominent Div1 school to break down a game better than:
Coach you gave up 27 pts to a school that averages.....How did you do it?
Well they need to get back on defense!
Can you break down what your players did, Coach? I was far more impressed with the LaTech coach's interview. If a coach is to yell, yell with a purpose. If you want course correction, give direction.
Just my 2 cents.

Now the interview at the end of the game was more of the same, but I did see a different Pastner at halftime.
The odd part was that Memphis was getting back on d.
The comments were almost all directed at (of all people) Nick Marshall who had a dunk and then decided to pose down while his guy got to the other side (and then Marshall committed a foul on defense).
Wasting a halftime rant on a guy who averages 3 mins a game...whatever.
Good lord man, people would take you and your followers more seriously if you were ever objective in the least. Cue 450, Bluto, Hoop, and all the rest begin the snark off....
Objective to what?
Let's go.
Pastner was complaining (vehemently) about transition D.
LT had FOUR fast break points in the 1st half.
The sole impetus for that diatribe was because (with 40 seconds left in the half) Nick friggin Marshall had a dunk, he posed down and did some silly tough guy scream. LT proceeded to get down court, put up a shot, get a rebound and then a late arriving Marshall fouled an LT player.
Again, it was almost impossible to criticize anything Memphis was doing wrong. They were shooting, assisting, rebounding and dominating ever facet of the game.
That's cool.
So don't act all crazy in a interview about "bad transition defense" when your really just miffed at a scrub who is getting less PT than Jake McDowell.
And, yet, over this trivial pursuit, you prove his point.
Blind as bats, and thick as thieves. Dense as concrete.

Yup. 2-4 would be preferable to some cuz it strengthens the agenda. We all know winning is hard, but now it's become frustrating.
There is a long way to go with this team. My opinion is that, up to this point, the Tigers play differently than what we've seen in previous seasons, and Josh has a different demeanor, too. How that all translates to wins and losses the rest of the way remains to be seen.

Nope they started to get loose after they got the lead...Started trying to make Alley oop passes and go for steals and honestly most good coaches will find something to ***** about even if the team is really clicking. You are never perfect and as long as you continue to remind players where they need to improve especially in the effort/mental portions of the game it should be done.
Now saying your players need to make shots or saying players make plays is still a stupid thing to talk about because it really is not something that is going to change much by talking about it.
And a point of note for you in the future...If you get fouled in transition and shoot FTs, that is not counted as Fast Break points
See bolded.
I know about FT's. That wasn't really an issue. LT had 3 instances on missed baskets where Memphis fouled within 10 seconds of the miss.
Of course it is nitpicking,
