Agree 100%

He should be on the road recruiting today in fact. That's how far begin UCF is.

Plus a big portion of that 1.5 months after the bowls is a dead period.

How do you track this? Where are you getting your info?

4* QB/ATH out of Cocoa: https://twitter.com/4way_lilbruce/status...4416238593

After taking the UCF job Frost's first 2 twitter follows? UCF's AD and 5* QB Feleipe Franks (brother of a UCF WR)... maybe nothing, maybe something.

There were also other non-high profile recruits that said they're excited and reinterested in UCF after the hire.

the 4star kid, he has ward measurements, he is a decently ranked 4star, he has a ton of offers but i doubt many are for QB,

UCF needs to pull a flowers and offer him a chance at qb..looking at his twitter you can tell that is what he wants, he his retweeting ucf stuff and followed like 15 ucf accounts

Taggart hit jackpot with Flowers. 4 star kid that had offers from everyone, but wanted to play QB. USF offered and he's perfect for run heavy spread. USF was averaging probably 300 yards rushing a game down the stretch.

The QB is it. If you have one, you're good. If not, you'll struggle. I don't think Holman is the guy. Even though he only has a year left anyway. UCF needs to get a Ward/Flowers type guy for their offense, IMO.

Congratulations on the hire, UCF fans

Still plenty of work to do, but no more easy victories, for your opponents I mean.

Frost will have a salary pool of 2.3M for staff. His contract is 1.7M for 5 years. Looks like a low buyout but that could have been necessary for negotiations. I am fine if he sees this job as a stepping stone. It means he has ambition and will have to be successful here first to get there.

By the way, good hire. I like it. Don't expect too much the first year. If you can get 4-6 wins in year one and significantly improve your offensive output, it will be a successful year. He needs a couple years to recruit his guys.

Even the run-heavy spread needs a QB who can get the ball to his receivers. Patti constantly hits their feet.

I wouldn't be shocked if he moves back to QB, because Harris nor Schneider are able to run this offense, but I'll be extremely shocked if he wins the job somehow.

I could see Harris and Schneider transferring. I'm not sure they have the wheels for this offense.

That is very similar to how UCF got Daunte Culpepper and Blake Bortles. Culpepper was highly rated but had grade troubles. The big schools backed away while UCF stuck with him and Boom, he came home. Bortles had offers to be a tight end. UCF offered him the chance to be QB and live close to home. We definitely need that magic again.

Maybe Patti is the temporary solution if he has the wheels that you indicate. People said Flowers couldn't hit anything either last year in limited opps, but Taggart saw something most USF fans didn't. Ended up passing for over 60% this year with 31 total TD's rushing/passing. Still isn't a polished passer but good enough to keep defense honest and crowding the line. New offense may fit Patti or another mobile QB a lot better than GOL's ground and pound O.

You can even add Jeff Godfrey to that list. He was recruited by P5 schools to play DB and WR. He did well as a QB until we tried to turn him into a pocket passer. He would've been great for the new system.

I agree. From what we have, Harris is the best option. He can run enough, has good short range accuracy, and has the arm strength to throw the WR screens. No idea about his football IQ, which I think will be a big factor in this style offense as he's talking no huddle AND hurry up. That to me means the QB makes a lot of decisions at the line.

He just throws every third ball into the stands. I also don't think he has the legs for this. Honestly, Holman is the best fit we have on the team. He has some legs and he has the arm. He had an awful year, but he played hurt all year because we had nothing better.

But I fully expect Frost will target a JUCO or 5th year (Taysom Hill, anyone?) and a true FR to be the future.

I think you're right that it will ultimately be a JUCO that he brings in that will get the job. Holman doesn't have the short range accuracy, it's why he sucked this year, even before the injury.

Well, maybe Frost can work with Holman to get some touch and accuracy. Or with Harris.

Sucks for Bo, though. Had we hired Babers, he would have had it made. Instead, he needs to start looking for a place to transfer. At least he has his redshirt year, so an FBS program is a possibility. UNT probably needs a QB.

Everyone thought Godfrey needed to transfer too. Maybe Bo wants to be at UCF; remember, he was the one who reached out to our staff after the Fiesta Bowl. We really have no idea what we have in him yet.
