State playoffs are going on next weekend(Thurs-Sun at WKU).
Better call for reservations ASAP. Some vacancy probably still available but finding a room may be tough.

Good second choice may be Franklin,KY(20 min.) or somewhere in Nashville or north of Nashville.(50-60 min.).

LOTS of great places to eat in BG. You'll need to be more specific in what you're looking for.

It's always good to reserve hotel rooms early but I don't believe the High School state championship games will cause too much conflict. This weekend is the final championship games, not playoffs. Since I imagine USM fans will come down on Friday, there are no state championship games on Friday but there are two games on Saturday. The Class 6A Championship Game is at 5:00 PM on Saturday and the Class 5A Championship Game is at 8:00 PM on Saturday. Doubtful any of their fans would come up on Friday. The Class 2A, 3A, and 4A Championship Games won't be played until Sunday. FWIW, Bowling Green High School will be playing for the state championship on Saturday at 8:00 PM.

If you're looking for a place to grab a beer and some decent food check out
Double Dogs or White squirrel brewery. Also a sports bar downtown 6-4-3.

For a good BG place to eat good food check out Mariah's, 440, Raffertys's and there's so many more.

Also, pretty awesome selections at the stadium.
