That doesnt make sense. The Liberty takes the #4 team from the B12. If we are looking at the liberty, its because there are a shortage of SEC teams. And there will be, which is why the Independance is also looking elsewhere.

Obviously conferences can negotiate among their bowl tie ins.

The LB wouldn't want an Arky-T Tech rematch in the LB. Nor would the LB want WVU here two years in a row.

Ok, so I guess the caveat is that the LB would be using some type of contractual agreement where they are allowed to pass on certain B12 teams. That would make sense.

Liberty is tied in to #4 Big 12 team. That's Baylor right now. They will be playing in a bigger bowl.

Liberty doesn't have to take the 5th, 6th, 7th Big 12 team.

Yes, I can absolutely see that. What I didnt see is it making a difference that OU wins. If Ok St wins, they may not get in the playoffs, but they will likely get an at-large, keeping the LB in play.

The Liberty? How? Not enough teams in the $EC or Big XII bowl eligible?

If the LB is in play, the LB will make it happen.

Maybe, but it depends on the opponent. If it is a school that travels well, they pick up the slack in hotel rooms, but Memphis folks will party at events, bars, and restaurants like tourists and sell out the game.

I, for one, would def. get a room downtown for at least one night.

So the Liberty Bowl is out unless the $EC gets two teams into the playoff.

If the sec or Big12 is lacking a team for all the contract bowls , then they will probably listen to any bowl that would like to pass on taking a sec team this year... depending on what terms are offered.

Both have enough eligible teams though. So it's moot.

WRONG .... the Big12 has 7 bowl slots PLUS and non CFP big 6 bowls. They have 6 bowl eligible teams .. it is possible Texas will beat Baylor and be 5-7 and squeeze in on the 2015 exception but it is unlikely

But the Liberty Bowl is not at the bottom. It has the sixth choice with six eligible teams even if a Big XII teams makes the playoff. Yes it's possible the Big XII could work something out with the game, but why?

No conference has a NY6 tie-in this year. They are all at-large bowls in the rotation.

With Lynch and our offense a great drawing card, especially after today, ESPN will give us a very good time slot for drawing good ratings. If Auburn continues tight game vs Bama, look for that matchup.

Hate Arky for that very reason- beat them 3 times in a row, twice there and Broyles dropped us like a rock. And the SOBs wouldn't even pay the nominal drop fee (Maybe $50K) because Broyles said not to. I was at all 3 games.

They might not want, but they might not have a choice of the conference doesn't have an alternate and the higher bowls don't want to switch.

Liberty Bowl had the Air Force for three or four years straight in the 90s.

Well that was because of an automatic tie in of only one of three schools.

Again, the B12 likely won't be able to fill their bowls. They have seven tie ins.

If the LB can actually get the Tigers I'm sure the LB will be happy to "let" some other bowl take their spot.

The Liberty Bowl has a bigger payout, better time slot, better opponent, and better network than the Heart of Dallas bowl so the Liberty Bowl is getting a Big XII team this year.

ESPN will be making these decisions.

Frank Broyles, Jerry Jones, Guss Malzahn...three class acts from Arky.

I was there. Light drizzle. Not even close to experience of prime duck hunting lol. A pleasure to see Pax work. Pleasantly surprised with defense. Yes, product on field was attractive to ESPN and BIG 12. IMO

Exactly, the Fair Weather fans. Because it will be a party....indoors, all over town, except for the game itself.
