So if Memphis is the fourth best team in the AAC...
Or maybe even the fifth, how good is the AAC?

I say this league can definitely go head to head the ACC and even come on top, but absolutely way over the G4's, not even close.

Indeed. We had four teams that basically went undefeated until they started playing each other, and a fifth that came on late in the season.
The hardest part of the season was conference play this year.

There's an argument that the AAC is better than the ACC. If not for the dead weight on the bottom to match their deadweight, it can almost be argued it's as good as the Big 12.

the AAC had a very good year and the league's top 5-6 teams would be very competitive with the top 5-6 teams in the ACC. However, we are nowhere close to the strength of the Big 12. The top 5-6 teams in that league are very, Very strong. Oklahoma, OK State, Baylor, TCU. WVU and Texas Tech are quite capable of beating one of the top teams. The AAC's bottom teams, UCF, Tulane and SMU, are just bad teams at this point, and are not capable of beating the league's top teams.

And our fourth place team beat Ole Miss, who still has a shot to be the SEC champion as I'm typing. Tulsa pushed OU all game and even SMU gave TCU something to think about going into the fourth quarter. They also hung with Baylor for a while.
There's a gap between the Big 12 and AAC but not a large one.

Stop parroting this ****. They were saying the same crap when UCF dismantled Baylor in the Fiesta.
More often than not, the Big 12 look like world beaters until bowl season rolls around.

I think that's because Tuberville has blinded Cinci of reality. They just believe they suck, and they contaminate the conference with their suckiness.
But truth be told, we would hammer the ACC this year.

whoa whoa whoa...let's not get ahead of ourselves. our best team had to go to the wire to beat the ACC's 7th or 8th best team in louiseville. we are good and are getting better, but the acc is still better this year.

Clemson, FSU, and/or UNC would win the AAC this year boys.
Nobody in the AAC would win the ACC

Thank you for the acknowledgement as being the conference's best team before the CCG. Much appreciated. However, Clemson also went wire to wire with the Acc's 4th or 5th best team in Louisville. The AAC was just as good and perhaps slightly better than the ACC. Please check the head-to-head comparison.

I think the interesting question is, what if for the remainder of the CFP contract (what 10 years?) the AAC wins the ACCESS bowl spot every single time. How would that shake up the power paradigm?
P5 +1?, G4
