Yeah, I think Jimbo would take the LSU job
I'm betting he really wants to get out of town. Getting an ugly divorce after your wife is caught having an affair with her personal trainer who is a former FSU player is bad enough. Now throw this in the hopper and he'll be looking for a change in scene.

From what I understand, one of the few reasons keeping him in Tallahassee after some of the negative experiences he has had, is his son who has a rare blood disease and is constantly in a hospital there such that it would be difficult to move him to another city and there would be no way he would want to leave him there.

Yeah, I remember they had a feature about that on Gameday a good while ago. That said, he's not hurting in the money department and, even if they don't have the specialists that they have in Tallahassee, I think he'd find a place for his son if he was determined to make the transition.
It's still silly to fire Les Miles, though.

LSU's SEC record the last five years:
2011: 8-0 (also the last time they beat Alabama)
2012: 6-2
2013: 5-3
2014: 4-4
2015: 4-3 (hosts Texas A&M Saturday)
That's more than just losing to Alabama every year. They're sliding toward the middle of the SEC West.

I have a hard time seeing this as a major reason to stay in Tallahassee (not that I know the details, other than he has Fanconi anemia)

depends on who has custody. if his ex wife does it would mean leaving his sick son. that's a major reason to stay unless your a poor excuse for a human.

I'm not sure this is a good idea for either. Tallahassee (and the ACC) is a small town media wise, and LSU (and the SEC) is not. Jimbo is a Bowden, and they traditionally run a loose ship. The player stuff (some of which is sickening) will never play in Baton Rouge.
My personal opinion is that the LSU athletic department is about to jump out of a perfectly good airplane by letting Miles go. Ask Tennessee how that deal worked for them.

Of course, they can both feel that a change of scenery for all is best, as individuals or together...

I agree with you and the same applies at Georgia.

In a general sense coaches have about a ten year shelf life. At that point, either you have become a forever coach (Paterno, Beamer) or the fans start to get antsy. Having a couple of mediocre years in a row increases the antsy factor.

Everybody loves a gambler while he is winning. But hit a losing streak and you can't get credit for a bowl of soup at the homeless shelter.
