(11-28-2015 04:05 PM)Lenvillecards Wrote:  Cards score 31 straight on the Cats after spotting them a 24-7 halftime lead as the Cats scored 17 on 3 UofL turnovers. Said to be the Cards biggest comeback since 1987. Cards played a horrible first half again but dominated in the second. That's 5 straight for the Cards over UK & tie the series overall at 14-14. Jackson alone out gained UK.

Good summary. UK sucks so I was beyond mad when we spotted them a 21-0 lead with a pick six and another INT returned inside the UofL 15 yard line. After that our defense shut them down and UK again showed they can't stop a mobile QB once we replace Bolin with Jackson.

First time UofL overcame a 21 point deficit to win since 1987 vs Tulane, and Lamar Jackson broke the school record for QB rushing yards in a game with 186 yards on the ground.

It's also the first time Louisville has drawn even vs Kentucky in the all-time series when you count the pre-modern games. UK was 6-0 from 1912-1924. Since the series started back up in 1993 the Cards are now 14-8.

The only mistake that the Cats didn't capitalize on was the Cards shanking a punt out of their own end zone. A 19 yard punt that gave them the ball around the 25. Nice TD breakup on 1st down & later a qb sack made it 4th & 19 which led to a missed FG. Barker completed 1 pass I believe in the 2nd half for -1 yard. The ugly tackling came back on the Cats final drive when Towels came in, I find this concerning heading into the bowl game. On the bright side the Cards have kept the Cats from another bowl game, they haven't been since 2010.

UNC lucked out with Dayes being out. he would have gashed this defense.

you got to give props to NC State for keeping UNC out of the end zone in the 2nd quarter after giving up 35 in the first.

would be sweeet if NC State came back and won this. lol

That's not NC State keeping UNC out of the endzone. That's Marquise Williams for throwing the pick.

interceptions are part of defense. his tendency for red zone interceptions rears its ugly head again.

unc probably has enough to hold on to a 3 TD lead though.

didn't a bad Va tech team take the peaking UNC squad to overtime last week? I guess that game got conveniently forgotten about. lol

Clem scored a lot of points despite 4 turnovers. those fumbles were some of the worst i've seen. i believe Clem was over 500 yards offense.

clemson defense was pretty dominant but they have tendency to give up the big wtf TD.

I watched the game. The defense was not dominant.

ok.

well sorry Clemson didn't win by 50. It is supposed to be like your little video games. lol

Way to go, Cousin Clem!! 04-cheers

I knew this game was going to be tough, but win & advance! COGS

You gotta to have something good to look at when the football is bad.

Army doesn't even have that consolation.

Clemson-UNC will end up being most watched college football game this season.

UNC is a weird team b/c their QB is like a 50 percent completion QB but they have a lot of big chunk plays. I think NC State had the ball like twice as long as UNC today. I don't htink a team can beat Clemson if Clemson has ball twice as long. lol

It's normal for teams to have the ball twice as us because we score so fast at times. We had 550 yards of total offense and only had the ball for 24 minutes AND we had 3 turnovers.

you score a lot on bad defenses though. your schedule was incredibly weak, didn't schedule any good games out of conference, including two games against the lower division.

Clemson has NFL talent in their secondary.

i believe there is a good chance Clemson will blow out UNC b/c I think Clem will dominante in the trenches and got too much speed on offense for the UNC defense which isn't elite

my opinion is UNC should be disqualified from the ACC title game because of their academic cheating scandal. They've never paid any price for that. if that happened at CLemson we would be on probation

Don't see that happening. Our D's legs are tired after 10 straight games. Boulware and Kearse have gone from stars to meh since the Miami game. If we get by UNC, I believe we will be recovered by playoff time, but that is a big IF at this time.

for all the talk about how much better SEC is than ACC, it seems like it little different from ACC in the 1990s with one team that wins it every basically every year.

Let's address these one at a time.

1) We scheduled SC and Illinois, both P5 teams OOC. There are only a handful of teams that played 2 P5 teams OOC. No one knew SC was going to suck that bad this year. So scheduling them was fine.

2) NC State, Pitt, Illinois, Wake Forest, Va Tech all had top 40 defenses this year. Duke and GT are tied at 43.

3) As for the disqualification, no one cares about your opinion on the matter.

RE: Open Thread - Week 13
the issue with Clemson past few games is the turnovers more than defense. short fields. our defense was dominant in 1st half today though.

it seems like past few games our defense stuffs the offense on majority of plays but then gives up TDS on a few plays. Given UNC only seems to move the ball on 40 plus yard plays, that is somewhat concerning.

it is going to suck if our dream season and playoff berth is ended by UNC of all schools. i hate everything about that school. i hate them more than SC and FSU combined. lol
