Playing EMU would be fine if it were the first game of the season. It's simply a perception thing.

I don't think this would look good any year where we might be considered for an at large tourney bid. It's bad policy to play a D-III. Seems we should be able to find some weak D1 teams to plug in if needed, or at least a D-II. This is at best a start the year off "scrimmage game", not something we should play on the record.

Coach Deane remarked that almost all D1 programs are playing a D2 or D3 school this year. It has absolutely no impact on the RPI; we lose virtually nothing by playing them.

I think the timing was perfect coming off 3 games in 3 days. It throws a bone to the community - The crowd was decent last night despite virtually zero students. It was no JMU/UVA crowd, but for a thanksgiving break game, it was a good home matchup.

Hey schools sometimes just play these kind of games... Towson is actually playing Gallaudet University... school for the hearing and visually impaired.

Thank goodness we beat a D3 team. I can rest easy now.

watching the highlights on jmusports, I noticed that EMU's coach Kirby Dean does something that irritates me to no end... I know its a personality thing but I hate when people put their hand on you when talking... like it almost comes off as domineering and arrogant.

It's personal preference... when you're talking to me, keep your dirty paws off me!

+1 I take back the EMU jokes, they showed up and played they best they could undersized and they brought fans.

RE: JMU vs EMU In-Game Thread
Watching the game I was impressed...impressed that the JMU players (with perhaps 3 exceptions) are lazy and unmotivated. I'd say it was the notion of playing a D3 program, but we've seen this before.

The poor D and margin of victory left me with the gut feeling we need to move on. Matt's a nice guy, and honest, and a fair recruiter, but he's not "the guy"
