You don't duplicate these types of ratings unless you have playoff atmosphere, do or die type games. That's why 4 teams is the perfect number for a playoff.

Interesting that so many 2:30 afternoon games made the list. must be a lot of old fogies like me that never stay up for the end of the late games.

Also interesting that none of the Big12 games the last 2 weeks made the list.

The 3:30 strength vs. the 8:00 marquee matchups is interesting.

I think that the networks have begun over-stacking that time slot though. Two weekends ago, there were four amazing games...all close in the final quarter...happening at the same time. It was fine as a viewer, but when the noon slot is a wasteland (comparatively speaking) and the 3:30 slot has 2 or 3 games tops...filling that 7/8 slot with 4 games plus (ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, FOX) probably hurts those rating (and skews your "top 10" above).

still 6 of the top 10 being 8pm or later games. Which is the same as last season.

It helps ESPN, though. They put 3 games in that time slot and those 3 games combined get far better ratings than they'd get if they put one CFB game on ABC and reruns of poker or bowling on the other channels.

I noticed that too. Is it because Fox really does a bad job, production wise, or is the Big 12 filled with teams other than Texas and Oklahoma that nobody watches very much?

That may be it. It seems like the best rated games last year were the nighttime games.

2 of the 4 were on Fox.

Last week isn't up yet. Don't know how good the ratings will be as the two big games were opposite each other. Baylor/OU lead the ratings the week before, but was only 3.8. Texas/OU lead week 6, but was only a 3.3.

Sportsmediawatch says Oklahoma/TCU did a 2.7
