Final Game Against ECU
Before the season began I saw this game as potentially deciding the AAC East or at least having some bearing on the final outcome. I was considering making the effort to get tickets and drive 3 hours to Greenville. Fast forward to today and neither scenario will happen. How sad is it that the game next Saturday is a battle for mediocrity in the East. I expect another loss on the road (no road conference win this year) and it really comes down to whether UC can hang around with ECU and keep it close or receive another beatdown. But hey, the coaches and players are apparently happy to be bowl eligible. I work with several ECU fans who are great guys but I will have to endure the jabs if the Cats play anything like last night's effort. It looks like 6-7 is real assuming another toilet bowl loss and finishing 3-5 in conference play. I guess I'll have to wait until after Year 4 to have hope again in our football program. Maybe the real question is does a win at ECU really change anything for this season and the next? Not really IMO. Man, that is very sobering.

Cincinnati 3-4 (6-5)
East Carolina 3-4 (5-6)

Win doesn't change anything other than showing the players haven't quit on the staff.

RE: Final Game Against ECU
I said this last night, I'll say it again here...

This game sets up as a kind of "perfect storm" scenario against UC...

-It is the second game of two on the road for UC.
-It is at Dowdy-Ficklen, which always a boost for ECU...and it will be their "senior night."
-ECU NEEDS a win to get bowl eligible, while UC is already bowl eligible...and winning "#7" is nowhere near as valuable as winning "#6".
-ECU will be looking for revenge for last season's loss at UC.
-UC is potentially demoralized...certainly "dinged up"...after last night.

I'm not saying this is a "lost cause," but everything I see aligns for ECU and against UC.... But that's why they play the game.

That's big, though. If the coaches have lost the players, then they shouldn't be the coaches anymore.

I am done with the crap program this year. I won't be watching the ECU game. CTT and his crud staff don't deserve my time...or dollars. I won't be giving to UC again until this clown and his reject staff are gone.

I'll be watching this game simply because of next year. This year, the 'Cats got a huge bump from the re-opening of Nippert -- no such big draw next year. To continue the ticket sales and excitement around the program they almost have to finish strong IMO.

I'll be watching for one primary reason... the kids on the team have put in the effort, time and commitment and deserve to be supported. If there was a way to support them and not the coaches, I'd love to try it. And I've been a TT supporter to this point.

I started the USF game thread last week with this statement - "They need to show me they are ready to play."

Obviously that did not happen - not even close.

I guess I will watch the game this week, but I expect UC to lose again.

They'll have win this one without me. I have better things to do that day than invest time in the epic battle for 5th place in the East Division of the freakin American Conference. Perhaps I'll listen to Dan and Jim while driving around.

This season sucked. Make it stop.

ECU is not a good team. I'm guessing if we played them at Nippert we'd win by 2-3 TDs. But with this staff, on the road, I'm guessing we lose by 2 TDs.

Wonder when the last time in human history a favored team was down 51-3? At halftime?

I wonder when any team was ever down 51-3 at halftime. That has to be one of the worst halftime scores in the history of college football.

Wow, it's even worse than I thought. I have a really bad feeling about this one. Tubs has probably lost the team and I haven't really seen much senior leadership all season. The team probably is demoralized. They aren't playing for anything. No championship hopes. They are already bowl eligible. No pride that I've seen. While CBJ was pretty corny at times, he really thought it was important to have a sense of pride in UC (ie "Represent the C"). I've never heard Tuberville talk like that.

Who starts this game? Hayden? Has this staff seen enough of Gunner to shut him down?

I'm sure it's not common in FBS vs. FBS games. We were able to get our name in the USF record books in several categories for our performance Friday night. So there's that.

Who cares # 1? Do what you have to do. It won't affect anybody else but you.
