RE: C-USA Football Players of the Week
Reaves' acceleration on the punt return for a TD was like Boss 302 off the line.

It's kind of interesting that last week's offensive POW and defensive POW are head-to-head this week -- QB vs. DB. Maybe one of them repeats this week -- preferrably the DB!

Misher is a senior. Last year he had the last minute interception against FIU that led to the winning field goal as time expired. He is (in my opinion) the hardest hitter and best tackler on the team, although linebacker TJ Ricks will put a lick on you, and I believe he leads the conference in tackles. The defense has really come on strong lately. I think when the game is over, you will say that the ODU defense is better than you expected. (Lord knows that's what I'm hoping you will be saying!)

Your team has me concerned. After listening to Coach Monken talk about them yesterday, it sounds like he has let our team know how well ODU is playing right now. As for our defense, keep you eye on #12 DeNerius Antoine. He is our best defensive player in my opinion and rarely misses a tackle. What is the scoop on your qb that is playing so well right now?

David Washington was recruited as a QB and is an outstanding athlete. He initially sat on the bench for two years (one year as a redshirt) as Taylor Heinicke's backup, getting only limited minutes in mopup duty the second year. Last year we had some wide receiver problems, and DW was pressed into duty as a WR, and he excelled. He caught the winning TD in OT against LA Tech.
With Shuler Bentley coming up at QB and thought to be the heir apparent for Heinicke, Washington asked to stay at WR this year, and that is where he played up until the Charlotte game when after only one three-and-out series for Bentley, DW was inserted at QB and had a great game for the win. He was out two games this year with an ankle injury (I think) and then a concussion, but has now won two games in a row against UTSA and UTEP. He has played well, has another year of eligibility, and it appears he will be the QB again next year unless something strange happens.
He is mobile, moves well in the pocket, has escapability, and has an accurate strong arm. With him playing QB, our No. 1 WR, Pascal, has been just awesome, and two of our young receivers have also stepped up big time. With Ray Lawry at TB and DW at QB, we now have true running and passing threats. We are clearly not the offense that lost so badly earlier this year.

What Aggie said. However Lawry will be out this Saturday.
Anyway, back to Surbadger's comment...Reaves was explosive. Love that gear he hit to finish off that run. Speed kills and I could watch it over and over.

Obviously, this helps the chances of Southern Miss winning, but I was looking forward to seeing him play.
I know very little of the ODU football team. I've seen maybe 5 or 6 plays from them this season with all of them coming last week vs UTEP. In that little bit of time, I was impressed with a 6'6 true frosh DE. He looks like he has a lot of upside, and could be a great player in the future.

Tim Ward probably. He's a beast. Ray Lawry has 2 more years so you'll have more opportunity

Quality at running back drops very little (if any at all) when Jeremy Cox comes in for Lawry. RL only played the first half against UTEP before leaving with the foot injury, and Cox gained 89 yards rushing and 70 yards receiving for a total offense of 159 yards in that game. He also ran for a 42 yard TD. So although we obviously would rather have Lawry in the game, the running game will be ok with Cox as long as he stays healthy.

Yep Cox is more than capable, hopefully both will be available for FAU. Lawry's special though.
