Since its Western week I'd figure I would put it in here the the women's volleyball team won the MAC West today beating WMU. Has been another good season I'm vball.

Interesting perspective I see it as the complete opposite, seems like the students have been really weak this year to me. Another problem with the student side, is that it is by far the deadest student section since 2000

Have you even been to a home game this year?

It's really hard to say now, how the students are doing vs. the locals/alums, because many of the locals/alums sit on the East side now, probably because it's cheaper. So that makes it look like there are a lot of students and fewer locals/alumni because the West side has fewer people.

I have been sitting on the east side recently for a couple of reasons. It's cheaper and I can choose my seat, I just show up a little early and find the perfect seat.

I was talking with my buddy who I am bringing to the game on Wednesday that sitting on the east side also helps the appearance for the cameras on national TV.

So basically we've all established MD was talking out of his ass trying to blame the students for weak turnouts

I'm not sure if he is completely delusional and really believes the crazy stuff he posts or if he gets a kick out getting everyone else riled up by posting absurd things. At any rate, the East Side has been much closer to being full than the West Side all season. I think many people, like myself, prefer the West Side for a number of reasons. I think tickets were priced the way they are to fill the West Side for TV cameras as a few others have pointed out. I'm not saying the East Side is dead, but what MD might be seeing is that it is not all students and young alum on that side any longer. I have noticed a more mature crowd on that side this year. I think there are still a large number of students, but they are mixed in with older fans.
