It's Western Week
BG stomps Turds Tuesday
CMU plays to the level of opponent Kent State on the road but comes up short Wednesday
NIU gets it done at the doghouse ...

Not an unrealistic scenario for NIU to clinch the MAC West next week!

I hate the roWEr (what the crap PJ) as much as Toledo now. Destroy them.
I know I am getting ahead of myself but when was the last time we earned a trip to Detroit at home? It seems like 2005.

That was vs WMU but it was also the last game of the regular season.

2011 vs EMU then 2012 vs Toledo.

When we win next week - we won't clinch unless CMU also loses. We may need to wait until the next week to clinch at home.

RE: It's Western Week
Watching the WMU game last night the announcers noted how Terrell typically stares down his receivers and doesn't go to second option often. Also, according to the announcers, Franklin only played late in the fourth quarter and there wasn't any indication of injury just a coaches decision.

Toledo would also need to lose to BGSU

Do you think the man-loving announcers will spend as much time drooling over Carey as they will over Fleck? Better give them higher tables in the TV booth.

Good point - even though we have the tie breaker against UT - if they win we would have to wait for the last week (UT and WMU play then)

It's early but already the weather report does not look good for Wednesday night's game. Not sure who that favors.

RE: It's Western Week
Western's run D is worse than Buffalo's. In all of their losses they have given huge rushing yards. I think they said last night Fleck is 0 - 13 when the opposing team rushes for over 100 yards.

This is like week one of the playoffs.

Playoffs?

The winner moves on, the loser is out.

Or is it Week 2? Technically the NIU-Buffalo game was destined to eliminate the loser, but a losing Huskie team still would have had a slight theoretical chance, and a victorious Buffalo would have been eliminated by the other MAC game.

Anyway, I'm pumped to see the Huskies back in DeKalb! 04-rock04-rock04-rock04-rock

RE: It's Western Week
NIU should be able to run the ball effectively and if TLL plays I think it just opens up more room for Ducee and Kenny. I get Ducee and TLL are virtually same type of player but when you have two of them one is going to have opportunities to expose a mismatch.

BG was able to run with ease. Biggest question will be can NIU limit Davis and Braverman. Last year and last night showed that if you get pressure on Terrell he will help you out. He can't run, hit him enough he will turn it over.

Obviously Graham's play and composure will be the biggest factor.

I will personally abuse my power to get up there and slap the hell out of them both, steal the mic, and broadcast to the world how Fleck is overrated and a pontificating jerk...

RE: It's Western Week
Can someone who can get to the game please organize to have a boatload of broken oars thrown near the Western locker room so they have to walk over them after the game? West side fans or marketing/promotions/athletics---I don't care who. Please. Would love to see this on TV.

And yes, pun intended on boatload of broken oars.
