I think most of us are happy that it turned out that way. My speculation is, however, that we would not have this "clarification"/change of heart if not for response from fans and donors. UAB Athletics cannot be in the business of infuriating its biggest customers, fans & donors. If he didn't know that decision would not be well received, then obviously he is managing in a vacuum, which is not smart at all.
