Here's the trick to never being surprised by the Vegas opening lines again... Use the Sagarin Predictor scores (link below), add three points to the home team, and subtract to find the opening line. (MTSU's rating+3) minus Marshall's rating is MTSU by 2. Vegas is scientific in setting the opening line, and then moves as money comes in to balance the dollar value of the bets.
So, if Marshall and Western were to play this week, the line would open as WKU - 11.5 in BG.
