I pulled more tail out of there than a fat guy at a shrimp-eating contest.

RE: Wayside West...
That place... I was in school at the time of the renovation where they added that god forsaken dance club to the end... My most vivid memory was a small guy getting picked on as he crossed the street towards Sweetwaters by some big guy and his group... they made it to the parking lot and the little guy just DESTROYED the big dude who was picking on him... I have never seen that many punches thrown that fast EVER. our whole group was watching it transpire from afar and we were NOT let down by the result... You could tell the little guy was holding back and just eventually lost it on the douche bag...

I definitely drank my body weight in beers over a few times at that place over the years when I was a student at WMU... I will miss the drunken efforts I made to play pool... the even more drunken poor pickup attempts I made on random chicks... watching that Philly/Pittsburg 5OT game 3 Eastern Conf semi finals in 2000... Watching Marshall score with time remaining in the MAC West Championship game in Huntington to win... Multiple Red Wings playoff victories... Watched the Vikings lose that heartbreaker to Atlanta in the NFC championship game... and as noted above, watching a HUGE underdog beat the $hit out of a bully in the Sweetwaters parking lot....

Its time... bulldoze that place to the ground... Losing my first dorm AND wayside in the same 12 month span... RIP Bigelow.

2. Being not allowed in for wearing a Detroit Tigers shirt on a night they didn't have a game (worst rule ever).

I remember when #2 was instituted, was around mid 2000s. It was a ham-handed and ineffective way to cut down on the rif-raff because like you said, a large % of the clientele were average joes wearing sports gear for the sports, not for gang banging.
