If Southern Miss hadn't turned the ball over five times Marshall may have lost that game.

Total yards: USM 439 MU 277
Passing yards: USM 314 MU 163
Rushing yards: USM 125 MU 114
TOP: USM 32:22 MU 27:38

Marshall earned the victory but just sayin'.
Yards is no way of comparing a game unless Turnovers were equal. We got several short fields and had to go 40 yards while USM was going 80 or 90 yards all night. When you qb is running for his life it's hard to not turn the ball over.

It's a good thing for you as Marshall didn't have many drives over 40 yards.

You people do realize that defense is a part of football, right? I'm glad they put our offense in that spot.

Like I said, Marshall earned it. Just don't think it was a dominating performance. We were a challenge and without your defense forcing five turnovers you probably lose.

You scored 10 points. The only team to score less was ODU with 7. Kent St, Purdue, Ohio were all tougher. While it was a close first half you didn't score at all in the second half.

Marshall played much better than USM. I'll give credit to Holliday. His defensive gameplan was fantastic and the rain really hurt us. Your offense is average at best until that QB gains some weight and arm strength (which he can probably do). If you can reload on defense, you'll be back in the hunt next year. USM should be favored in the west division.

Also, a rematch in the championship game isn't completely out of the question. WKU looked mediocre yesterday.
