I would not really say it is a surprise. Kent is better than it's record shows.
Vegas thought otherwise
And their track record is how good when it comes to the MAC?

UMass QB is grossly overrated.

Yup. I can't remember who but someone had him as the third best QB in the MAC. Also had Cooper Rush as the sixth or seventh. UMass as a whole has been grossly overrated this year. Our last three new conference members will all have come and gone without being competitive while a member.

That's a really bad loss for them. What happened?
Maybe Lembo needs to quit worrying about his offense and focus a little on the D?
They have never been better in the MAC than 7th since he's been here. They are currently 124th of 128 teams in total defense according to ESPN.
They are pretty predictable on offense although some of that can be attributed to having a freshman QB. I think this was his 4th game.
I watched BSU play another MAC team and realized how much smaller and slower the Cardinals seemed to be compared to the other team. I think he's getting out recruited.
I like what he's done. However, his teams seem to be regressing rather than progressing. It got a lot harder for him post Keith Wenning.

And knowing the Ball State admin, they'll let a few 4-8/5-7 seasons pass before there is any action.
*I stole this from a poster on the BSU boards but since Wenning's last win, Lembo is 7-13.
2 FCS wins (Colgate & VMI)
2 EMU wins (no offense)
Akron, CMU and BG
I assume this to be true and if so, Yikes.

Agree that he as been so so this year and wonder if we under play the hit to Fro arm and shoulder at the end of the BG game. Last year he broke his leg and we never admitted it to after the season.
Kent State was the better team today, congrats!

Does Ohio typically base attendance on tickets sold or actual attendance? I thought I read somewhere that Peden seats around 24K? If that's true, I find it hard to believe there were over 20K in attendance, even with all the high school bands there.
Not knocking Ohio - it was still a good crowd, that number just seemed a little high to me.

Miami's attendance is going to fall off of a cliff from here on out. We have a weeknight game on the 29th and then two in November with no special event like homecoming or family weekend on the horizon. When you're in the midst of a 11-44 stretch, no one is going to show up. Apologies to the rest of the MAC in advance.
