USC is much bigger though.

Not that any of they is happening.

I have been to a game at both schools, A&M is a madhouse right now, packing in about 105,000 per game. Although it's been 20 years since I was at a USC game, it's tame compared to A&M. Fan base, USC probably has more money obviously.

It will be interesting to see what Haden does with that job.

Haden has to get away from the Pete Carroll crew. In retrospect, they've all been nut jobs.

Sounding more and more like he might not get to do anything with it.

I bet USC calls Chip Kelly to kick the tires.

Was it a big jump from arky state to Mississippi or auburn...come on dude many can see a good Coach regardless of school

Don't get me wrong, I think CJF is fantastic and will do well wherever he goes. I do have my doubts that USC or Texas - top 5 programs - would hire the Memphis coach. That is stupid IMO, but it's the main reason Texas passed on Briles...ego.

Freeze & Malzahn were inspired hires...but those programs aren't top programs. It's rare that big programs go out on a limb like that.

Heck, Ole Miss isn't a big program and the Freeze hire was still surprising - it took someone with a conviction/vision to make that call. The hire was mocked, but it turned out great. That's what USC should keep in mind.

Ok we got our Wires crossed...I read the person you were replying to saying that Sumlin would go to USC and Fuente would go to Texas A&M which is essentially an equal program to Ole Miss, so I was talking about Fuente going to A&M

Freeze has won nothing but of consequence.

"Texas A&M is essentially an equal program to ole miss"

Bwahahaha Bwahahaha Bwahahaha

You guys need to stick to stuff you know something about. I have no idea what that might be but it's obviously not college football

Your first & last sentence are ironic as heck!

I will agree on the A&M point though

He's the John Daly of College Football. I'll be surprised if he ever coaches a game for USC again.

read the LA Times article...this stuff has been going on since his days at Washington. Numerous expense reports, receipts, etc. showing copious amounts of alcohol consumption. How did the Washington AD look past this & how did Haden not know while hiring him...seems like the players all knew.

Yep.

Fired him at the airport. Not quite as bad as a hot dog stand, but it's up there.

Could be worse like Tom Landry and only find out after a press conference.
