K and your point is what? That UC was within a couple hundred of a sellout? Or the original point stands?

An absolutely ridiculous statement. Houston was vying for a championship the last time we were in town and they could not even muster 5000 fans. Our worst game was Thursday night in the cold and rain in a temporary stadium setup and we managed close to 20000

The difference between a 50K and a 65K seat stadium doesn't matter much if you don't fill it. ECU has maintained great attendance, though. Honest question about the 50K. ECU is only averaging 43K, and I understand how tough it is to get people into the house for a dud opponent. For the bigger names - VaTech, NC State, etc - is there enough to demand to get crowds over 60K?

Is it really though? Would love to see the averages from the last 5 or 6 years and you'll find the schools pull about the same crowds.

Easy math. It's relatively close. I didn't do per game averages, but did do per season. Since 2009, Houston has averaged 28,404. UC has averaged 32,881. Houston's low season was 2013, at 24,256 average. UC's low was at Paul Brown last year, at 28,840. Why are people having this pissing contest anyway?

RE: Week 6 Attendance
Crowd for Tulsa was sad this week. Disappoints me how many season ticket holders will bail on a Tulsa game to go to OU - Texas, or any home game for OSU/OU. How many will bail for the State Fair a couple miles away. How many will skip a game against a "nobody" or will bail if "they're just going to lose anyways" against a somebody.
It was a gorgeous evening for football. They all missed out.
That said, I feel the need to again point out that at least our 17k sad average is honest.
27,000... seems legit USF (stadium seats 65k, so 40%+ full?)
.
26,000...seems legit UCF (stadium seats 45k. So more than half full?)

If there are seats, they will be filled for those games. But I honestly would rather keep the supply lower, and increase the amenities.

This conference plays very good FB and is very competitive. Folks are starting to take notice. Happy to see those numbers on fan attendance increasing. A combination of Arescp exposure TV deal and the conference performing on the field they way he envisioned it, seems to be a winning combination. "Murican Rising"

I agree that ultimately the TV exposure strategy should pay off. People want to be at the games when their team is winning on national TV.

Worry about your own team. Just last year you were drawing 19k a game.
Really? May want to check your facts slick and add about 10 grand to that while playing in a temporary stadium. Houston has a new stadium, new coach, better conference and a good team this year and the attendance is still an embarrassment.
None of us are Michigan, A&M, OSU have 100k plus for games, people need to understand having massive attendance like that is rare and only a few schools do that, to get 30-35 k for attendance is really good attendance for CFB , Stadiums are going the boutique route with loads of amenities. Going north of 35k is considered going to another zone FB attendance wise

I asked about this on the realignment board & got a pretty satisfactory response. The Houston/SMU game was competing with several live sports events on that night. USC had a similar problem during their game against Washington & saw a roughly 20% dip in attendance. Assuming Houston also suffered a 20% dip, they should have pulled roughly 35k. Room for improvement but they're trending in the right direction.

You're thinking of 2009 when everyone was done with Tommy West. 4100 showed up that night. The next week, following another thumping by Tenersee, Tommy was fired. The next home game, UAB, attendance was back up to 18k.

We had a very nice showing. In the past we generally drew 25k for this game. So 35k has us trending 10k above our average homecoming crowd.
Hopefully we can draw 35k again. I had predicted 30k for the remaining games except for Notre Dame. Be nice if we get 67k for this one. Tix prices are high for ND ..
