And that's how it ends. Hopefully they play more than 20 minutes going forward.

RE: Game day! Wmu vs Lethbridge
heck of a 3rd period. Overall not the worst performace ever. Hafner gave them that 1st goal. Got things cleaned up in the 3rd and hopefully figured a few things out. 0-0, time for ferris.

Also, I know that some of these Canadian college teams have former CHL players and also some former pro players that have played in like the ECHL. Hopefully we can get our stuff together for ferris

Considering I think everyone played in the game (5 forward lines-8 D ),besides some more dumb penalties we didn't look that bad.

I saw some things I liked, some things I didn't (but it is early) and some things I'm not sure about.
The next 3 games will be telling...

yeah, looked like Andy was putting lots of the new guys out to see what we have. I like that strategy, get everyone some game time and figure out who pays well together before the real season starts.

RE: Game day! Wmu vs Lethbridge
It also played against us that Lethbridge had played 6 games before us, and if I heard the news right, this was the first week of actual coaches practices. I saw some great things in the game on Saturday, and I like two or three of the freshmen. I learned that Hafner had surgery this summer and some people were wondering if he might be a little slow yet in his recovery period. That first goal he allowed showed me he had a "ton of rust". It was that or he has too much confidence in his stick handling ability.
I will not judge our team on just this one game, and I will reserve judgement on the team until we get into the season.
Always proud to be a Bronco, RTB.

I find the whole thing Saturday to be funny and frustrating. Why is it we make excuses for this team and the coaches each season. Should we not expect more? Murray has been at the helm for 5 years!
This team practices all summer long and yet they play the way they did. Trying out line combos? What did they do all summer? Coaches on the ice or not, they are on the ice every day for months and the coach is involved no matter what the official position is. Other teams seem to figure this stuff out in the month the official practices start, yet a guy with his experience level has to work it out still. Come on!
The penalties. My goodness. McKee, great guy, works really hard on some things, but was an issue last year with the penalties and this year starts the same way last year finished! And they reward that behavior with a Letter. A leader needs to be more disciplined! There is no fighting in this league and we are a marked team from previous behavior on the ice and the bench!
This weekend will be a telltale sign of the season ahead. Ferris will be fired up to beat these guys. Hope they are ready for the challenge.

I agree, can't reward a guy with a letter that takes unnecessary penalties that cost our team, and from Saturdays game, looks like his game hasn't changed.....in all honesty, McKee should be in the ECHL or AHL mixing it up and trying to be an instigator there because his playing style is not what college hockey is about. As much as i love Andy Murray, I question some of his tactics......and once again, penalties and discipline need to be cleaned up this season if the broncos want to be in games, can't win games on the penalty kill the whole game.
Leading the nation in penalties is embarrassing IMHO and that reflects on the coaching staff.

Andy has said as much about cleaning up our act, it's his fault and he knows it. I would expect Mckee is going to have to earn his way back into the trust tree.

We are going to gain a reputation and have an issue with penalties as long as we foster a rough and tumble attitude through both recruiting and culture.

It starts with the man at the top! Watch him during a game. He loses it! Crowd loves it, Referees not so much. It's the old saying, "monkey see, monkey do!"
