Well, that's what Aresco had in store for us, lol.

But he got us on ESPN with national coverage that has helped this conference quite a bit, didn't he?

Coulda shoulda woulda doesn't count.

Yep, and nbc screwed up big time by low balling. I believe they felt ESPN would not match the coverage they were offering. They were wrong, and missed out on basketball (where the AAC had both the previous champion and then current national champion) and is missing out on an AAC football that still has 4 of the 20 undefeated teams in the nation.

We have got to be really good for ESPNs bottom line right now.

That would actually make for a pretty darn good FB conference and would actually help a little bit to make the two divisions more geographically sensible. Navy and UConn would still be outliers, but I assume Navy would want to be in the same division with AFA.

EAST
Cincinnati, East Carolina, Memphis, Temple, Tulane, UConn, UCF, USF

WEST
AFA, Boise State, BYU, Colorado State, Houston, Navy, SMU, Tulsa

RE: Thank god for Mike Aresco
The first and most important step is to get CSU and Air Force to come over. If we weaken the MWC, then we might have a chance at landing two more good teams...but I tend to think that BYU will remain indy no matter what. We would ahve to get a $6-7 million a year contract to even begin to entice them and even then that only replaces what they currently make.

I am not certain that picking up Boise St would be worth it. Let them try to be the big fish in an even littler pond.
