RE: Wky vs MT kickoff
No where did I say my wife goes anywhere without checking with me first....

she wouldn't do that and I wouldn't either...Point was train them early, that when you say hey Western plays @Houston on Saturday, do you want to go? She knows you're going and either goes with you or don't stand in your way. Like I said got to train them early, from the go :)

As for Ft Lauderdale, I like it just as much as she does and why I don't mind the 14 hour drive 5 times already this this year with at least one more trip planned for Thanksgiving week :)

Both my boy are grown so I understand this isn't for everyone but once you ask, really ask....you are under their control, for life. 04-bow

Personally my wife knows Western football and basketball is very important to me. She knew this when we met 34 years ago and I will ask her to join me (and our son) on every trip and include things she enjoys doing on it. In the end if she stays at home that's her choice....

just as going is mine

To me it's important to pick your battles with the wife, but on things that you really care about doing...she should be OK with it. If not and it's not a money drain on you, she's selfish and will be that way till you divorce.

I married way over my head but I was upfront on 2 things...I'm a boring person (no bar scene for me) and I go to ball games. Both are still true today...

34 years later

But then again if my wife wants to do something she loves like shop with her sister, casino, trips to Ft Lauderdale/PC Beach. I don't stand in her way...I love to fish so any Fla trip is OK with me. Not so much on shopping.

Well, the one person that mentioned permission said his wife gave him permission to go down Friday so he could be there to tailgate. That's more than 8 hours I would think. My wife and I don't stand in each other's way but I still ask before I do pretty much anything that we aren't doing together. Whether its a golf weekend or just a Sunday morning tee time. She does the same. Just seems like the right thing to do, for us at least. It's really progressive that your wife goes to Ft. Lauderdale without checking with you first. Like I said we all do this marriage thing different. I'd say at 34 years what your doing in working for you. Congrats. I hope my wife and I stay alive long enough for that. 04-cheers

sounds like both you fellers have a good blueprint.....looking forward to watching you guys play this year....and more importantly, the entertaining threads... 03-wink

I missed this one earlier....

what he's really saying is......"we are the ruled by the geppettos that deem what is important....this is your welcome mat to the brainwashing of matter to the masses"

can't dodge the moneyball most of the time....yeah, the concept of the movie pun intended....

out of all the others, this is one thing southern miss fans have burned into their brain....it's a tough road to hoe and will harden the skin faster than ozone depletion....

if usm was wku in this situation (our AD), the same result would happen....p5/g5 viewing preference is akin to the divide of wealth in 'murica or how ....get used to it....it's not going away

what the g5 ADs' are whiffing is consolidating at this point to gain leverage against the p5 and the media....but that's an entire other discussion....let me just say they are blinded by fool's gold and trying to one-up the other in hope of a coveted p5 invite.....poosies is what comes to mind as I look at them now.....the op went bye-bye years ago.....the g5 is nothing more than booty call on the drunkest night.....the nation doesn't give two fks....

yeah, it sucks....however, that changes nothing.....

Context clues are great, I even said the game was in 2009 even if I had been a freshman or sophomore at the time I'd be in my mid twenties by now and you're right, most people do give up their fraternal ties as something significant at some point, but I didn't register for the handle this year, I did in 2007 and even then(at 24) I might have gone with something different had that not been by handle on the MT board for 2 or 3 years at the time and at any rate I'm not sure including your fraternity in your message board handle means you view it as significant, there are people far older than me with their fraternity in their handle I can tell you that much for certain.
