It does suck if you have too many of them. One 11AM start is no reason to raise hell. If 4 of your 5 home games are at 11, then it's time to call the AD.

This is the problem...We only have 5 home game to start with...1 on THursday, 1 on Sat. afternoon, 2 on Saturday at 11 and 1 on Friday at 11.....How many schools does not have at least one single Sat. night game? That is why so many complaints, feel like we have a right to complain this season....If we just had 1 Sat. night game I would not be thrilled but happy at least having one game and one tailgate...Our AD is doing damage control as a lot of people are pissed off about it.....Also how many FBS teams this season play 4 out of 5 on the road in October? This years schedule is complete garbage...

For those saying stop complaining, easier said then done with kids playing sports and coming to a game from out of town....You must not have kids for whoever suggested take a nap, haha...

Comparing this to NFL is beyond laughable....NFL has been this way for years and its engrained into everyones head, everyone already knows the schedule..Plus NFL also is not going to tell a team 12 days in advance time of games...NFL schedule is out way in advance to give plenty of time to plan....Also Sunday games are a little different then Saturday games, sorry..

This is beyond ridiculous for Western to have 1 Thurs. night game, 1 Friday game at 11, 2 Saturday games at 11 and 1 at 330....Completely takes away, game day atmopshers before hand as well as makes it hard for out of town fans to even attend games....I am lucky in that my wife is going to let me come down Friday night, but it would have been nice to have option to take the whole family to game, but cannot with it being so early....Its not an excuse, just unacceptable....I don't even care if its 1 IAA opponent every season, no reason we should A. not have at least 6 home games and B. have one Sat. night game, those 2 should go hand and hand and be manageable...WKU is doing all of this so what 20 people can watch on some random Fox channel...MTSU game should be on at least FS1..

I actually like an 11:00 kickoff sometimes... It gives me a chance to catch all the rest of the Saturday games afterwards. By the way, where is the best spot to tailgate for a few guys in Blue? Are we better off hitting a sports bar beforehand?

Right across from the stadium on the scoreboard side is the best spot. You have to walk over a gully but then you have all the room you want. Go up the incline set up right in the area that has the two metal bars running north/south. If it's a windy day you can clamp your tent to the metal bars.

At some point you will hear a loud whistle noise don't pay any attention to it or the vibrations. It's just the Western band coming down the street. I believe you can even see over the wall and into the stadium field.

Great spot for all muts fans and more than enough room

Here is my post from Bulldog Barks & Bytes. Most of the C-USA TBD games will be 11 a.m. on FS1 or FSN and 1:30/2:30 CT on FCS

Here is the original list of TBD games. This games will air on FS1, FSN or FCS. Red indicates 12-day or previous announcement.
MTSU/WKU is a great matchup that they relegated to 11 a.m. We can assume that the USM game will be 11 am start time.

It's not just us. College football is ruled by television. Talk about TBD times look at UofL's schedule...yet they'll have 55,000 at all their games:

I started tailgating around 7am when we played Miss State at 11am in 2009 and one of the two crews I tailgate with had already been out there for an hour or two.

Show up, support your team, stop making excuses.

I agree to a point but early games collide with youth sports. Ball game vs kids game is not a hard decision. Also being early sucks becaus e it takes away from the tailgate. I will be there but it still sux.

1000% agree

it's a killer for small market towns....

edit: when monken went on his tirade about 'lack of butts' with a 2:30 kick against the giants from Austin Peay, we had soccer start that weekend coupled with ms state and ole pissy home games......that was my one knock on his rant (loved the passion though)....he didn't use the periscope properly.....neither is your AD....

Where did I say everyone could do that? Just talking about my one experience with an 11am kickoff and FWIW now in my 30's(but still no family) I probably wouldn't be out there quite that early.

Do men really need to ask permission to do the things they love? And before someone comes back..if you want to stay married, you do. Well in that case I see more of a trust issue than anything else if your wife/husband..I just today that could be both, can't do with out you for 8 hours once a week.

I can understand the kids and playing a very supporting role in their life. But then again, sometimes it's OK for one parent to be there and the other to do something they enjoy. Not always but at least a few times a year.

fair enough....I assumed you were younger (since you have the pikey thingy as your moniker...most give that up as being significant at some point....sorry)

perspective relative to the whole is important.....especially in small market towns...toss in having a family?? It becomes much more difficult to juggle....also, one should realize that many in small market towns either did or didn't graduate high school.... edit: please forgive the yogi-ism....I used to be blonde....

just as realignment has played out in phase one....phase two (scheduling and TV) is a sticky wicket...some folks are always going to lose...minimizing the pain is critical to establishing a core with the locals.....wku's AD has self induced an enigmatic enema with this schedule....

at some point, putting off the hatred for the rival and looking at the bigger picture has to take precedence....it applies to all of us....

That is one more Saturday night game then we have at home...No comparison to our situation...They are on ESPN, we are on FSN in which maybe 20k watch our games Sat. at Noon vs. MTSU....They have 6 home games, we have 5....Everyone understands TV, just saying every season should be built in with a 6th game even vs. IAA on Sat. night...UofL's situation is nothing like ours, even when they were struggling they still had Sat. night home games...

I must not be the only one pissed off, our AD wrote a letter to WKU fans today:

I consider it just being respectful or her time and our time together to ask if it's ok before I pack up and leave for the weekend. I guess we all do this marriage thing a little different.

Well a weekend would be a little different but aren't we talking 8 maybe 10 hours here? Personally my wife knows Western football and basketball is very important to me. She knew this when we met 34 years ago and I will ask her to join me (and our son) on every trip and include things she enjoys doing on it. In the end if she stays at home that's her choice....

just as going is mine

To me it's important to pick your battles with the wife, but on things that you really care about doing...she should be OK with it. If not and it's not a money drain on you, she's selfish and will be that way till you divorce.

I married way over my head but I was upfront on 2 things...I'm a boring person (no bar scene for me) and I go to ball games. Both are still true today...

34 years later

But then again if my wife wants to do something she loves like shop with her sister, casino, trips to Ft Lauderdale/PC Beach. I don't stand in her way...I love to fish so any Fla trip is OK with me. Not so much on shopping.

Well, the one person that mentioned permission said his wife gave him permission to go down Friday so he could be there to tailgate. That's more than 8 hours I would think. My wife and I don't stand in each other's way but I still ask before I do pretty much anything that we aren't doing together. Whether its a golf weekend or just a Sunday morning tee time. She does the same. Just seems like the right thing to do, for us at least. It's really progressive that your wife goes to Ft. Lauderdale without checking with you first. Like I said we all do this marriage thing different. I'd say at 34 years what your doing in working for you. Congrats. I hope my wife and I stay alive long enough for that. 04-cheers
