RE: New AP Poll Is Out
No G5's in top 25....despite the existence of several undefeated G5's with P5 victories. Toledo (68 votes) and Boise (38) are the closest two G5s to getting ranked (Houston is the closest to getting ranked in the AAC).

I don't agree with all of the AP but it is much better than the Coaches. I mean Auburn is still getting votes in the coaches.

RE: New AP Poll Is Out
It's getting pretty ridiculous. Beauty contest or not the rankings matter...
The CFP is obviously the one we want, but this is getting stupid. Toledo, Memphis, Houston, Navy, and Temple should all be getting more respect than they are. Boise always get's respect, Yeah, they have earned it.
They are keeping us out. BYU and Boise can get ranked or in with no problems, but none of us can? BGSU has beaten Maryland and Purdue. Memphis gets no respect for that win? Houston beat Louisville on the road and rolled the other 2 opponents like they were supposed too. Temple beat Penn State and Cincy, Memphis won @Kansas (Bad, but who cares), Cincy and @ BGSU, Navy took it to an ECU team that just beat Virginia Tech who's only loss to that point was to #1 Ohio State. Toledo has beaten Arkansas and Iowa State.
The bias is whats frustrating.
I'm not saying we should all be ranked, but hell 1-2 of those teams should be and any would be deserving.
Oklahoma State continues to climb.
4-0 with HUGE wins over CMU, Central Arkansas, UTSA and a 1-3 Texas team... Lol most of the teams listed have a better resume' than that.
I'm not saying that all the rankings are undeserved by the P5 because that's just ignorant. What I am saying is you could replace 2-3 of those P5 teams with the G5's mentioned and I don't see any drop off.
Do we have playoff contenders? No, it doesn't appear so as of right now. Do we have a couple teams capable of beating the P5 in Access Bowls? You bet your ass we do.

Really they could have lost any of their last 3 but they didn't and they get the notoriety they deserve for handling their business.

RE: New AP Poll Is Out
The AAC could in the future be a better conference than the ACC and still get snubbed. I remember a few years when the MWC had 3 out of their 9 schools ranked. Heck, 2 were top 10 at some points. The big 3: BYU, Utah and TCU, plus decent Air Force and Colorado St teams. Heck, even New Mexico was going to bowls regularly during the BCS era. I've asked it before and I'll ask it again: if that conference (which was way better than the ACC) couldn't get into the cartel between 2004 and 2010 with all those impressive rankings and OOC wins then how is the AAC going to do it? The cartel will pick up any number of AAC schools individually when they win but they'll never call up 12 schools to the country club. I guess the AAC could be a "P6" someday. When the sun rises in the west and sets to the east, when the seas go dry and when the mountains blow in the wind like leaves. Anyone want to guess which book I tributed there? Cheers!

Weren't they going to gain BCS status? I remember that being talked about. Then realignment happened.

RE: New AP Poll Is Out
Take this in account UConn goes to top 25 Missouri and plays them with in 3 points. Then Navy goes to UConn and throws teh ball only 5 times teh entire game and beats UConn by 10. Clearly if Missouri was deserving of a top 25 ranking then Navy should be ranked.
Then Kentucky beats the same Missouri team and jumps from no where to being ranked.
Auburn cannot score to save their lives. Between their QBs they have 5 TDs and 7 picks. Yet Miss St suddenly becomes a top 25 teams for beating a badly over rated Auburn team.
Oregon loses AT HOME by 42 points on top of another loss this year and they are STILL in the top 25 of one of the polls.
Go back a week to the Ole Miss/Bama game. Thoise who actually watched the game and paid attention saw Bama literally wipes the floor with the OM team. Giving the game away due to 5 self inflicted turnovers. STILL it takes an off the defenders helmet and to a second receiver TD pass on a desperate throw away pass to create the 7 point difference in the game. 1/3 of OM passing yards came off two plays which were either a fluke or should have been called back. If so they would have been held to under 300 total yards for the game. Yet they jump all the way to 3rd in one poll. Why? Because there is a group of voters who automatically votes the team leading the SEC west as the #1 team. They then turn around the next week at home and get pushed around by Vandy. Barely winning due to some of the most ignorant play calling i have ever seen after turnovers.

May have been the first year that the ACC had a title game in 2005. FSU entered the title game with a 7-4 record and unranked. Then after winning the title game they are suddenly ranked and get a BCS bowl game.

RE: New AP Poll Is Out
Who cares if Ole Miss got lucky to win at Alabama, they still won and actually built a ~20~ point lead twice. I don't see anyone ready to strip Tennessee and Ohio State of their national titles about 15 years back because they got lucky all year long.

RE: New AP Poll Is Out
I don't think any team playing more than one FCS or a so-called P5 team playing more than two G5 games should be eligible for rankings.
