RE: OT: Don't sleep on Toledo
Quote:Temple has a challenge with Notre Dame and Memphis, although both are at home. I like their chances.
If ND tanked like I thought they would with their new QB, I may semi-agree with you on that one. Temple relies on (a good) D with little O, like they did in their couple good years in the MAC. Tough -- but won't go undefeated. No good O. Playing ND + Memphis? They won't win both. I bet my virginity on that one. :)
Quote:I don't believe they will even win the MAC. Just my two cents. But id take the field, no question.
I don't either -- although I think it's possible. They won't do it playing how they're playing. A great D, don't get me wrong. But last year they had a great D, too. Their QB, yeah, a transfer from a big-bad team -- still is throwing POOOORLY. They have a good running game, but boxing him up, you'd expect their QB to throw well. Yeah, Toledo WRs drop passes, but still -- 39% the last game? Ouch.
They play BGSU -- who is NOT going to be shut down by Toledo's good D. BGSU scores like a whore at a frat party (but has no D). NIU is NIU, and WMU by season's end especially with their still-maturing players will have their ducks in a row. Toledo needs to step up their O to be considered to be favored to run thru all 3 @ 3-0.
