If we can score consistently we will be in the game. If we can hold them to a couple field goals instead of touchdowns every time that would be great. But I am very nervous for us defensively

I do not understand why we are 35 point underdogs to OSU when Hawaii was 41 point underdogs. Does Vegas think we are only six points better than Hawaii?? Seems insulting to me

The line is determined by betters.....(at least the final line)...so it's more a reflection on what the general public thinks than Vegas.

I think there are 2 main dynamics going on with the public moving this line to 35 1) the scores of the NIU-UNLV and Murray St games. They see those points allowed and are alarmed and 2) Ohio State is coming off a sloppy game and there is a general expectation that they will follow that lackluster performance with a more dominating one. All in all though, I am not sure a 35 point line is completely unrealistic with some validity possible in those 2 points, perhaps a better line was where it started at 31.5, perhaps 4 points of public overreaction we shall see. Really hard to fully know how serious OSU takes the game, its really the unknown X factor.

Line was intentionally set high to pull more action onto the niu side. House doesnt care who wins, they make money off the margin and want equal bets on both sides. Lookingat the line, i wouod say NIU but an even better bet IMO is the over in this game given the Offenses of both teams and the not so good D of NIU.

This will be a good test for Drew and for the O line. I hope that he has time to throw and that when he is pressured that he makes good decisions.

Can someone start the Fire Carey thread now just so the typical 3 or 4 that do that , do not have the satisfaction of creating it.

55-13, they will have their way with us. Our defense gave up 872 yards to Murray St. and UNLV. These are both bottom feeding teams. I realize there is a reasonable expectation of improvement as the season progresses, but I just don't see them turning it around to keep it close with Ohio St. As for our offense, my prediction is they will come out of the gate slow and never catch up. OSU will bully us at the line of scrimmage, causing Hare to have to hurry and inevitably make mistakes. 1 TD and 2 FG's for total score, maybe another late TD when Urban pulls his first team off the field.
