Thing of note, the branding IS WORKING...on First Team Sirius XM they didn't say northern Illinois once....used NIU each time they discussed the upcoming game vs Ohio State...good to see

Good article but considering we've been blown out in our last few games against ranked teams I don't think that we should be mentioned in the same category with Boise State. We've been stomped by Russell's Wisconsin, No. 3 FSU (although we really missed a good opportunity keep it close), Arkansas last year, and Marshall at the Boca Bowl. We've had some amazing conference victories but our non conference resume is nowhere close to Boise's. I hope we can start to close the gap with an impressive performance against Ohio State. Our 2003 success in non conference seems a loooooong time ago...

If I put down $10 for NIU to win, what would I win? Or is that something that comes down based on the website/broker?

Apparently Ivan Maisel and ESPN didn't get the memo. If there is an effort to establish our branding as NIU I don't think it has been promoted strongly enough. Even our own play-by-play man (Baker) still refers to us as Northern Illinois. That would be the first place to start if the admin is serious about branding.

I can recommend using Bovada man, I have many times and never had issues...$20 min payment can use credit/debit cards....

Depends on the odds, if it's a money line say +230, for ever $1 bet you win $2.30. The line will likely be -120, so you get like $18.50 for a $20 bet

Northern Illinois 8000

Coughing up 56 points over the first two games is a bit troublesome. Against the consensus #1 team in the nation with 3 QBs that could start most places, including the Chicago Bears? Ugh.

First time NIU will play a #1 team since 1986, a 34-0 loss to Miami (FL) at the old Orange Bowl.

Ohio State was ranked #1 when we played them in 2006. But yea, this could be very ugly.

I honestly do not think there is 1 team in the nation that would be able to keep a less than 3 TD differential in Columbus this year
