If there is one team that could , Alabama...MAYBE, but other than that I do not see it.

Come on MD, Hawii was only down 17-0 going into 4th quarter and they are brutal...I have no doubt that Alabama, Michigan State, Ole Miss, etc. could hang within 3 TDs

If there was a single week to catch the Buckeyes off guard it was last week with Hawaii. Coming off a short 5 days of prep, following a long long anticipated revenge game with Va Tech, Ohio State slept walk through that game, and they still won by 5+ TDs. As long as Ohio State is not completely asleep for a game, I don't think anyone besides Alabama could keep it less than a 3 score game at Columbus, and to me even that is questionable. Reading these OSU blogs, they are not too happy about how they played last week and are going to be playing "angry football" against NIU.

They as in the players, or they as in the fans?

They're going to need help, for sure. The good news is Jones is starting and I think there's a better chance he can get sleepy than Barrett would.
Need to contain Elliot, put OSU in third and medium-long, and make Jones stand back there and beat you. Hawaii did it and only gave up 17 through 3.
I think the offense will move the ball. I fully expect NIU to put up some points. Cincinnati lit up OSU at the Horse Shoe last year.
The issue is going to be on defense.

We need to get some pressure this week on the QB. That was one of the ways Hawaii kept it close and causing Cardale to get flustered.

Huskies come out slow like the last two games, look for a 40 point game... ouch. Come out and leave it out there from the first snap. I think we do, we usually play up for big games, they don't get any bigger today...

If I put down $10 for NIU to win, what would I win? Or is that something that comes down based on the website/broker?
I can recommend using Bovada man, I have many times and never had issues...$20 min payment can use credit/debit cards....
Depends on the odds, if it's a money line say +230, for ever $1 bet you win $2.30. The line will likely be -120, so you get like $18.50 for a $20 bet
So looking at the Vegas Odds it lists
Northern Illinois 8000
Ohio State -15000
For some reason I don't think that'd be $80 on 1 dollar, so I'm still trying to figure it out lol
Yes it would be. The money line is based on $100 units. So if you bet $100 on NIU, you get back $8,000, or $1 to win $80. Conversely, you'd need to lay $15,000 on OSU to win just $100, or $150 to win $1. Just divide the posted money line by 100 to get the $1 odds.

And I just don't see that happening. Unless Carey has some stuff up his sleeve.

I'm hoping for some trick plays. If ever there was a game where something, anything, new might be warranted.......

I would expect to see a surprise onsides at some point if the game is within reach.

I hope not, if we come out slow this Sat. It will be ugly. However, that is a reasonable expectation given weeks 1and 2

Against an opponent like OSO, we could come out real fast and still look like we came out slowly.

PLEASE NO! They don't work against a team that knows the underdogs might try anything.

Not always true, see NIU vs Florida State Orange Bowl. I think 3 trick plays worked? I know a punt fake and surprise on-sides kick worked?
