I agree crow should be eaten with all of the stuff we read about how Doughy sucks and last night would be even worse beating that last season....Happy to win, we can all move on and WKU fans can enjoy poking and or ribbing our La. Tech fans for a little while...

I agree Beed, amazing how similar the posters are with tone, bravdo, etc with our fellow Cajun fans...

True we could met up again in CUSA championship game...Driskel was very impressive last night and I am for one glad Dixon is a senior, that guy always is going forward and rarely every loses yards....

Dude...you only won by 3 pts. Not by 30, 40 or 50 pts (like Tech did last year) You played at home, and LA Tech only had 5 days to prepare. I'm not saying WKU didn't earn it, because you did. But it's pretty obvious that LA Tech wasn't prepared in the first qtr, and your 8-year starting QB was. The score was 21-3, WKU at the 12:38 mark of the 2nd qtr.

But as the game went on, LA Tech's athleticism, physicality and coaching adjustments started making an impact, hence we closed by 15 points. It was a good game, and WKU earned the bragging rights.....for now. But the season is long, and things could look totally different at the end of the year.

Congrats WKU, on a fine win.

Ever notice how some fans just cannot say "Good game. You guys beat us"? There is always an excuse or "you were the better team LAST NIGHT" kind of stuff.

Very entertaining game. Both teams looked really good. Doughty is fantastic. Dixon is just a beast. Hope the Allen kid heals up. That was a gruesome injury.
I would imagine when we go up to play LaTeDa in a few weeks we will be underdogs. Maybe two score underdogs.
And Rustonia isn't really in Louisiana, its in Southern Arkansas.

RE: Time to eat crow...
Actually, there was a brief moment in the 3rd Quarter when I thought we were going to win. We cut the lead to 27-24 and it was anybody's game at that point. Then we "held" WKU to a FG on their next drive and we had a chance to take the lead for the first time on our next drive, but we weren't able to. Then WKU scored the TD and the 2 point conversion and it would have taken a miracle (which almost happened).

And coming from a guy that screams at our own team from the TC and generally acts like a fool, that's why I called you out. It ain't just on here that you act like that.

No sir, I know exactly who you are. I've been on here and Haven for years...not only as this screenname.

Typically your comments are only mildly douchey, but after the kind of game that was, that was classless. Yes, you tried to make up with it with compliments after, but that's only after you got called out.

But hey, if that's how you get your rocks off...go for it. But you are in no way a good representation of a WKU fan.

And no, I will not be going to IU. Too far from Alabama.

This game never seemed close. When Allen went out of let a lot of air out of the stadium and team but honestly this game wasn't close. We fumbled on the 1/2 yard line and you had a Hail Mary. One of your posters recognized the fact. When we play again (hopefully if we can get past the mighty thundering herd) it will be a different game since Allen will be out. But most of your posters have been good afterwards but some are still smoking the pipe.

The next time you play LaTech,it will be a different game, because it's going to be played on March 5th, 2016 in Diddle Arena! 07-coffee3

I have no idea who you are on HH or here and kind of scary you act like you know me?...When have we met?..I find it funny out of all the outrageous comments, posts, etc, you pick out my post in which I was joking playing off a La. Tech poster who kept on posting SCOREBOARD if any WKU fan every said a negative thing about La. Tech...Apparently you were not around from some of the outrageous post made by a fellow WKU fan after MTSU game last season..ONce again not sure what your deal is? I have not posted anything worse than half the people on here...IT WAS IN JEST.....La. Tech has great team and will be a force to reckon with, I hope they win every game now....For one half way joke, I posted 10 compliments after the game commending La. Tech and their players..

That is a reoccurring theme for us from last year. 3rd qtr 3-and-outs are way too common for our high power O. Especially painful when the D gets 2 turnovers and the O produces nothing from it.

Yeah if you just watched the first quarter. Tech also had a sure touchdown go right thru the hands of our receiver (Henderson) so it goes both ways.

In the second half, we had 3 chances to drive the field and take the lead. And failed on all 3. 2 turnovers and then when Hotlz opted to punt. If Tech would have seize on that momentum I think Tech could have won even with our bad defensive scheme.

Overall I was pleased with our athleticism and disappointed in our coaching/scheme

Tough break about Allen. Heres hoping its not for the season. Your team is very good and the game was not as close as the score indicated. WK is much improved versus last year.

It looks like we might have taken a step back.

That was very similar to our game last year. You jumped on us early with a plan and we fought our way back all game and couldn't quite get it done. Last night watching that game I kept thinking Tech was gonna come back but fall short and that's about what happened.

I don't think a year made that much difference...

other than Tech losing a great DC and 4 or 5 of those very quick play makers on defense. I think we saw last night (and it goes for all of us) there's a reason certain guys starts and if their backups were just as good...

well it shows "they're not"

Not just Tech but Western, Marshall, FIU, and go down the line of just about every school other than most of the bluebloods.

Like I said in many many topics and got called out as a homer by a lot of Marshall and Tech fans ....

I look for 10 to 15% improvement out of defense in getting off the field on 3rd down. Now tell me which is the more realistic goal?

1. 10-15% improvement on getting off the field when returning 8 + 2 starter from UAB

2. replacing a great DC and 4 or 5 KEY defenders and expecting a defense to be just as good

One more factor that Tech fans played down...

the death of a former teammate just a day or so before last years game. Maybe not the deciding factor in Tech whooping Western last year. But it played a role in just how bad Western played.

2014 is not 2015 and 2016 wont be 2015 for Western...

mostly different players and that was where a LOT, not all but a lot, of Tech fans hung their hat on. I personally hope both programs has turned a corner and can restock each and every year. But like I said...

only a few elite schools do that

Good game WKU. I was there and you could tell from kickoff your team brought the intensity and was out to prove you were legit.

QB played lights out the whole game. Gotta get in his face and disrupt or he will eat you up. Not sure why we went with more of a passive D game plan to start (as it appeared to me anyway). Your D played exceptionally well for the first half. What remains to be seen is if your D can sustain that level of play ALL season. IMO, from past experience with this type of O, your D the last few games of the year will be running on tired legs. But hey, that's why the games are played. Maybe we will meet up again.

Hopefully, we will have more depth on defense this year to help rest some guys. Maybe later in the year they will have some legs left. 3 or 4 play, 2 min. scoring drives are great... except for a thin defense.

We definitely have more depth this season, but we are playing all the way until Nov. 14th which would be reason to be concerned with any defense....

only a few elite schools do that

You have no idea what you are talking about. Let see what happens the rest of the year, before making a moronic assessment, ok buddy. And the excuses, WKU beat Tech and was the better team last night, no excuse

That happens every year to every team. We lost 2 maybe 3 "playmakers", Houston Bates and linebackers Johnson and Pinson. We have 4 stud "playmakers" returning Butler, Dora, Brice and Woods. It definitely wasn't talent the reason why Tech lost and that was evident as the game wore on.

Every post I read of yours is excuses on why your team loss..or if if if or we were the better team late.

No Tech was not the better team last night. Nothing change later in the game to show this .

What really change was Western taking the freaking air out of the ball and running clock ....instead of offense. Now that's truly what happened.

But make no mistake about it there's one thing everyone on this board can see.....

you are a freaking crybaby. A excuse maker.
