RE: Nippert Stadium observations
I was in the upper deck on the east side close to the student section. It was LOUD there. I always tear up when I think how much I wish the student section had been like that when I was in college at UC.

OK - I don't know who I asked to sit down but it sure as heck wasn't you - I'm 3 sections over (121). This is what happens when you get old and senile. 03-zzz

RE: Nippert Stadium observations
I need to revisit this. I hate to take away a little from the big win but I have one issue to get off my chest.

UC needs to do something about concessions on the home side (I guess that is the west side). I only needed a soft drink and had to stand in line for over 10 minutes to get one. I think the problem is a combination of not adding enough concession lines/stands, perhaps poor management, poor design.

Why not have some people selling soft drinks and hot dogs in the stands? Or at least some carts or temporary stands dedicated to selling those items to alleviate the concession lines? There are more beer vendors before the game but they seem to go away once the game starts.

Heck, I'd rather have more toilets on west side than concessions - the trailers are not cutting it.

Get a bottled soda at one of the cart vendors prior to start of game, can always cap it and drink when you want to.

Fumes from the trailer ware carrying up to the Wyler Terrace on the 4th floor viewing deck. Nothing says luxury like the smell of raw sewage.03-lmfao

The men's line for the trailer at half time went from underneath Tangeman all the way to the stadium concourse. Amazing that the renovation reduced the number of urinals available at that part of the stadium, and they are temporary ones at that..

I get that space is at a premium and that luxury seating is important; however, my location of 8+ years (I lost track) has become a lot less attractive due to this bonehead move. There had to be better ways to address this situation.

I might be more concerned about your complaint if you had to wait in line during game time activity. Go when there is a TV timeout. You have plenty of time to make it to the john and back to your seat. I do it every game and I sit lower in the bowl. There are plenty of long stoppages in these TV games in you plan better. If not, happy waiting.

You can enter TUC on the west side and use the restrooms in there. I know one former poster from this board that told me last night that's what he does. Said it's much quicker.

FYI - if you are on the east side. They were letting us into Shoemaker to use the restrooms. Better than waiting in those long lines.

I don't like to leave my seat once in it, so I usually don't drink or eat once in the stadium. That's my pre-renovation way of dealing with the cluster that existed behind Section 119. That cluster no longer exists, but sometimes when you gotta go you gotta go...so I went.

It was just kind of disappointing that for what was an upgrade for most ended up being a downgrade in my section with regards to the bathroom issue. I just don't think it needed to be this way.

Or walk a few extra feet to the NEW restrooms further north on the west side of Nippert. The number of urinals/stalls has increased, but you have to walk a little further.

I don't get all the 03-hissyfit My seats are in the last few rows on 119 so the bathrooms use to be directly behind us. The guy in front of me was bitching about the trailers. I asked him if he went to the new restrooms and his response was yes after he saw the line for the trailers. He said the line moved great there. Duh, there's your answer. 03-banghead

Or use the TUC restrooms as I did in the past and as Ash suggests.

If they sell beer in the stands, they should sell pop/soda in the plastic bottles. I've found that a lot of the concession stands are poorly managed.

Ok, you're talking about bathrooms on the opposite end of the stadium. Every single freaking stadium I've EVER been in doesn't have a setup like we do now, including the old Nippert. It is a downgrade, and kind of a stupid move. It's not like this is rocket science. Aside from the odor wafting up to the luxury party deck this is simply bad design, no argument.

You'd think thought would have been put into allowing more time for buying concessions and watching the game as opposed to walking to the other end of the stadium or standing in line.

It was kind of a comedy scene watching the women in their short line taking pics of the long men's line. They were thinking it was pretty funny.

That line moves pretty well, but it takes some time to get from one side of the stadium to the other. I love the renovations overall, but bathrooms are still an issue for me. Your options are basically a huge, slow line or fighting your way to the other side of the stadium to be in a long line that moves quickly.

*I haven't tried Ash's suggestion and will do that next time.

The bathroom thing isn't the end of the world, but it all seems kind of dumb. It smacks of a money saving kind of thing.

As far as Tangeman goes, I usually take care of business pregame, so I pondered going in but pregame it's fenced off and focused on exit only so I didn't bother.

Anyway, enough of this.

I haven't had a restroom issue at all. On the east side if you use the restroom closest to the south bridge the line can be long, but it moves at lightning speed.

The Men's restroom is now smaller on the east side above section 108. Can't time a tv time out, doesn't matter/ there is always a line.
In past years you could time it much easier.
Kind of disappointing after all the surveys and new construction.
I have been going up top and it is a lot further to travel but seems to be much faster.
I will also keep Shoemaker in mind as well.

RE: Nippert Stadium observations
I think its growing pains. Everyone is still learning to manage everything. On the west side there are three bathroom options 1) the new ones, which i use and had no problems, 2) TUC, and 3)the trailers. None are very far from each other. If the line sucks at one, move on to the other. As far as concessions, I'd like to see a few more options set up where the Cheese steak cart is set up.

I have not used the east side facilities, but I have to ask if more people need to take advantage of the facilities up on the plaza level, instead of staying down on the concourse level? Vice/versa?

All I know is that we have NEVER had this many people shoe-horned into the Nip, and never once this year have I felt "shoulder-to-shoulder" stuck within a crowd.
