Parliament friends:
For the last several years, I have participated in a bike race called the Tour de Pink, which raises funds for breast cancer education and research. And for most of those years, members of the Parliament have generously sponsored me in this cause. I want to thank you for sponsoring me in the past, and to humbly ask for your continued support in 2015.
One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime, and breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer death among women ages 40-59.
I will once again be riding with the cycling group from Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church in Houston. Our fundraising goal is fairly modest, so if you would like to be a modest supporter of it, we would be very appreciative. Here is the link:

I took up cycling on a semi-serious basis several years ago, and it has got me hooked. And with the backing of friends and colleagues, this particular race has been especially motivating. Each year I've pushed myself a little harder, and each year I've been one of the fastest finishers at my distance. More importantly, thanks to the support of friends and colleagues, I've raised several thousand dollars for breast cancer research and education.
This year, on September 20, I will be back in the race. I would be grateful for your support.
Sincerely,
--
