An ode to Kazoo, Waldo
Hey all,
Had some fun writing about Kalamazoo and Waldo Stadium for today's LSJ. Thought I'd share. Hope you guys are well.

(Perhaps I should change my screen name. Oh well, if David Drew's bosses think he's posting my copy, it'll lead to an entertaining intra-office meeting.)

Graham...you pegged us with 24 points. Nicely done. Would you say Zach Terrell is the best QB in the state??

If Terrell had the same time in the pocket Connor did I only imagine how many more yards he would of thrown for.

We wouldn't be lamenting a loss... That's almost certain, and MSU's season would be over.

When I win the Powerball I will buy the Gazett and give it to you.
That kind of writing is sorely missed here.
We were surrounded by a nice mix of MSU alums. They stated almost exactly what you said. This is a unique venue.
To quote two MSU guys in front of us. "The game at CMU was like my high school game. This place has a great feel to it."

Graham deep into the cool aid as perhaps he should be. It's always nice to have a job .. I'm not quite sure that state is worthy of a number five ranking. The next few weeks Will tell all .

Can't take much away from first games. Two years ago we played State close and played #16 ranked NW close. That State team ended up in the Rose Bowl, NW had an awful season, and the team that played them close finished 1-11.
That said WMU, MSU, CMU, and OkSt. probably shouldn't read too much into this weekends performances. By the middle of October these schools will know what they have.
My take is that MSU and WMU will have only a few tests in conference. Big drop off in the Big Ten after OSU and MSU. Similar situation after UT and WMU.
CMU has no ground game abd their DBs will get lit up against good QBs and receivers. The league has figured out that you sit on the QB option with NIU. BF will run the East but will lose to both UT and WMU.

This is pretty much dead on. After the first week, most teams make the largest progress. That close loss to MSU two years ago was followed by our one win season... Can't get too up, and can't get too down.

There has to be a way to transfer accounts, so the current Gazette writer can have that sign on.
