Aw, I guess NDSU can't say they belong in the MAC anymore.

Does that means that its Montana that belongs in the MAC?

It can only help their exposure.

Exactly. State flagship and land grant schools operating at a huge advantage to the rest of the directional, commuter, and bible schools is unfair. NDSU played in the same league as Oral Roberts for example. That's ridiculous

Those schools need to be playing in the MAC and WAC.

Why would NDSU be a fit in the MW?

Not even in the Pacific or Mountain time zone. Much better fit in the MAC.

Big congrats to the Griz. Great start to the football season.

Yes, great win by the Griz and great start to the season. Montana's fans created a real big-time atmosphere and even the setting of the stadium, near those hills, was beautiful.

Stitt won't be at Montana very long. His innovative mind will invite many offers in the not too distant future.

I still remember Dana using Stitt's fly sweep with Tavon Austin to obliterate Clemson in the Orange Bowl, giving Stitt, who was coaching the Colorado School of Mines team at the time, full credit for the play. That was the first time I had heard his name publicly. But you can bet Bob Stitt's name will become much more familiar to everyone very shortly.

Not without a travel partner.

NDSU is not a geographic fit for the MWC or MAC.

FBS independant is NDSU's only chance in the near to mid term future.

Then why did he coach at a Colorado DII school the last 15 years?

Either because he chose to stay there or no one invited him for an interview at a DI program.

So either way, no reason to expect him to leave Montana any time soon.

To me the MAC is the obvious choice but as others alluded to...geography is a huge issue...as the MAC might decide to lean east going forward to the TV eyeballs.

He was a small college coach, coaching in DII or DIII. As a consequence, he went relatively unknown, until his offensive innovations brought notice to those in coaching circles. And within 5 years of getting such notice, he's now coaching an FCS power. And he beat the 4 time defending champion in his debut game.

Stitt is only 51, which is still pretty young for a coach. He's got a good future, despite your opinion to the contrary.

Yeah I was. It was also a jab at that one NDSU poster who claims that NDSU is better than all the other MAC schools and that we're afraid to take them in as football-only.

Well if your league was smart...a FB only offer to them would be good for both parties.

No they wouldn't, NDSU is very far for a bus league, would cost too much in travel. Syracuse must just be too used to a somewhat undeserved wealth football wise.

And an attack out from left field...was that called for?

For being a smart ass? Yeah. MAC fans continuously tell you P5 fans why schools like that aren't invited.
