So basically Auburn has a major that nobody takes but athletes... the academic side wants to drop it... the athletic dept. wants to keep it.
UNC 2.0 ?
No. The class actually exists, has a real professor, and it meets. Three points very different from U.N.C.. That's the difference between a crip course and fraud.
Just messing with you, J.R. I'm not even sure I see a problem with this... but it IS funny - kind of like scheduling a bunch of cupcakes OOC, only in an academic sense.
I didn't know Louisville was a cupcake.
They're not (but you'll find that out soon enough).
The SEC teams playing an all-cupcake* OOC schedule are:
Ole Miss (UT Martin, Fresno St, New Mexico St, Memphis)
Miss. St (So. Miss, N'Western St, Troy, La. Tech)
Missouri (SE Missouri St, Arkansas St, UConn, BYU)
Vandy (W. Ky, Austin Peay, MTSU, Houston)
* defined as no P5 opponents
Missouri plays B.Y.U. and I wouldn't qualify them as a cupcake. With Ole Miss I would put them on the cusp of cupcakedom but won't put them over the line until I see what Fresno has, or doesn't have.
The other two I completely agree are playing cupcakes. They should make Baylor play Mississippi State.

So "SEC/ACC merger" is NOT about the ACC? Interesting...

When Western Kentucky makes your list of 10 toughest non-conference games, that really tells you all you need to know, doesn't it.
LOL at the fact that they rated that game tougher than the UNC game, though.
Vandy is only a 1 point favorite in that game. The UNC-USC spread is 3, the same as A&M-Arizona State. The SEC is favored in all 14 of its opening weekend games. All are by double digits except these three. It doesn't hurt that only one is a true road game (Miss State @ Southern Miss).

Memphis is far from a cupcake. Ole Miss just might get beat.

You have to cut Memphis fans some slack when it comes to football. According to most of their football fans they didn't start playing the sport until last year so they aren't used to participating in sports board discussions until November.
Kinda like Duke and UNC fans.

The problem is they can't spell "A-C-C" over there.

After listening to Harbaugh's grammar in his post game I have to wonder about the Big 10's vaunted academics. He is a Michigan man. There were two quick gaffs but the most notable was "they are in there being hard on theirselves".
By the way we just don't have a need to spell ACC. After all it simply stands for Another Carolina College, Average Coastal Conference, or in the case of North Carolina, Accredited Class Contingency.

1. I suspect Auburn academics would hold up fairly well against most colleges not in the Ivy League, and I don't think Harbaugh is a typical Michigan grad.
2. After watching Fedora vs Spurrier I wonder if ACC stands for "Another Crummy Coach"... or "Ah Cain't Coach" in his case?

I guess we can see why Vandy-Western Kentucky was on the list.

BYU is a legitimate P5 school

They are probably among the 10 best teams not in a P5 conference.
