A conference desperate to have a relevant team & to keep the AAC from getting that school......

we are just saying we'd like to see some not named boise carry the flag for you guys every single year

the aac could lose any single member we'd still likely be debated as the top g5

the MWC loses boise and c-usa and mac comparisons will start to come up
I love these tallest midget debates! Like thousands of other threads before, you take the best of both conferences (along with BYU) and you have a good and fun conference.

Cincy and UConn fans...

No to some East Coast/West Coast BS conference...

This thread is 5 pages long, and not one person has thought of using head-to-head results as a more viable gauge of comparison than someone's pre-season rankings? Has anyone even bothered to look?

I look at both conference as basketball centric. While football is solid, basketball is where most of the major national success has come for several teams in both leagues. I think overall, both conferences are quite even.

The fact that UConn is still in the AAC is all you need to know about how important it is to have a good basketball program.

You're trolling attempt has nothing to do with my post. In terms of college ball, the MWC has no one like UCONN, which puts them below the hierarchy...

The importance of good basketball is all relative. If you're a basketball school then basketball matters to you and your respective institution. It's a lot easier being a basketball school in a non-P5 conference than it is being football first.

Being in the best basketball conference will do that. We'll see what happens to UConn after a few years in the AAC. Don't forget that a current MWC member has a national championship as well. 03-wink

granted, but your national title was due to a totally illegal team put together by King Cheat....aka Tark. So if you feel good about that, carry on.

eh....he probably needed to go. How UC handled it was total bush league though. I miss some of Huggs teams....yes.

I am a big fan of Mick Cronin. He has built the program the 'right way' and I love the emphasis he puts on toughness and what we call Bearcat Defense....

unlvs pedigree is nowhere near uconn, and the AAC as a basketball conference is dramatically better than the MWC

the mwc has 2 powers (unlv and sdsu) ..and both re relatively new, and 2 second tier utah state & unm..thats it

the aac has 4 powers (memphis, uconn, cincy & temple) 2 second tier (smu and tulsa)..and a former power that is returning to shape in Houston

and our bottom has a higher upside as they can recruit, usf is loaded with 4stars, ucf has the tallest player in the nation, tulane bought it its best ever class which included a 4star

CSU is building a new stadium

Nevada and USU have major stadium renovations planned .

UNLV might be building a new dome

Fresno ST has announced a big stadium renovation is coming.

The AAC has the edge because of the former Big East and SWC members past associations. Better recruiting grounds and markets.

MWC has an edge with less competition in the West and a friendlier P5 counterpart .

Nobody has underestimated the Mt. West. All that was done was simple arithmetic. No subjective assessments employed.

As I said, I will redo this analysis at the end of the year to see how each conference performed during the year. May the best conference prevail. ECUHOO.

But your simple arithmetic is for a preseason ranking (pure speculation)....try last season's final rankings (actual performance) with your simple arithmatic, Einstein. 03-wink
