This is where ECU fans are coming from
http://www.scout.com/college/north-carol...178&page=1

Check this thread out on NC States forum and you'll see why East Carolina fans are so defensive sometimes. Even though State is the only ACC team to lose to us in basketball, gets regularly beat in baseball every year by us and since 87' is 4-6 against us including a beat down at their place in which ECU fans took the stadium over the last time we played, they still look down their nose.

You will have to excuse ECU fans once in a while if we seem arrogant or defensive because we have been putting up with UNZ and MooU (NCState) fans our whole lives. Although beating them into submission the last few years on the football field has shut them up a little.02-13-banana

And no I don't think ECU is going to the SEC just for the record.

Reminds me of how Rutgers fans look down on us. Obviously we both struggled mightily in football however they act like they've actually accomplished something when they've done nothing and they get rewarded with a B1G invite because of their proximity to NYC. We absolutely roll them in basketball. We have 3 national champion teams (all sports) and they have 1. It's really unbelievable how cocky and arrogant they are for a school that hasn't done ****

Every team in the AAC has been disrespected by the P5 programs in one form or another. ECU fans just seem to have a bigger chip than most on their shoulder and generally have to respond to every opinion as if it was a personal attack.

The chip has to be a little bigger with 4 ACC teams in the same state as us.

We have 4 P5 schools in our state, and NONE of them are better at football than ECU. That stings.

Yes they are. We kicked their butts in their stadium, they were sitting around with their mouths hanging open, in disbelief, like we are getting beat by this team. LOL

North Carolina State wants to be the only Wolfpack prowling the lucrative world of college merchandising and licensing, a goal that has put it at odds with the Loyola Wolfpack.

Cincinnati doesn't have 4 P5 schools in our state, but we have a bunch of them within a two hour drive from us. When you factor in the metro area of our city falls within three states, we have a lot of fans of other schools* to contend with in our own back yard (and this does not I include schools like Xavier and Miami (OH) who always talk academic and holier-than-thou smack on us).

I know how you feel, look how long we had to listen to the UK football saga. But in resent years we are the university that has beaten Texas, Alabama, Florida, Notre Dame, BYU, Boise, Michigan State, Illinois, Arizona State, TCU, and others. All I can say is hang in their and hire the best Presidents, coaches and ADs. End of the day it comes down to your management. 04-cheers

I couldnt imagine having to deal with Notre Dame fans. I am sure they are UNZ X2. We get holier than thou academic and football smack from them which I think we can all agree is obviously BS.

Welcome to any P5 school versus an instate G5 school.

This isn't news.......

Try reading some of the things that Baylor, UT, A&M, Tech, and now TCU say about UH.

Exactly. Disbelief yet Houston would wax Rutgers every year. It's frustrating that we don't have them on the schedule this year however we renew around 2020 and I'm already excited.

NC State fans have been generally massive DBs in my experiences and encounters with them. That thread doesn't suggest I'm wrong.

The funniest part is ECU is 8-5 vs NC State since 1985, including the last game we played in 2013 which we blew them out and took over their own stadium.

I got the same vibe when we knocked them out of the tournament in 2013. Of course my experiences were only over message boards so you know how that probably went.

I actually concur with you. The stuff posted about UH is ridiculous. What I find bizarre is how fan of those schools appear to be obsessed with UH. We get OSU and UK fans crashing our boards every now and then being a jackwagon, but one could start a post about the weather on a Baylor, UT, A&M or Tech board and one of those mouth
breathers will find a way to trash UH in the thread.

RE: This is where ECU fans are coming from
State does have some decent alums/fans. Let's not act like they are all DB's, they aren't. I've worked with many over the years and they've all to a man been decent people. It's the bandwagon clowns that are generally obnoxious. In fact all of the State alums I've worked with have been complementary of our football and baseball programs and we've had good conversations about both programs that didn't turn stupid. We've tailgated together and attended games on both campuses together and had a lot of fun doing it. I'm no State fan, what I'm saying is that it does no one any good to become what their bandwagon fans are against us. Posting a link to their board so we can read their inane comments says one thing, inferiority complex.
