Nah, you're being generous. UT and NIU have been getting the most first place and third place votes while WMU is leading in most second place votes. It's WMU's consistent 2nd place votes that's making it seem like more people are picking them 1st.

Not sure if I have seen Toledo picked 3rd yet? Lots of 2nd to WMU and first with either NIU or WMU trailing.

You realize that NIU's loss to Marshall in a non-new years day bowl cost the MAC 2mil right?
What do you mean
From the playoff payout to the G5. If NIU won vs Marshall the MAC would have been ranked 2nd in the G05 pot instead of 4th behind both CUSA (Marshall) and AAC (Memphis). Each spot was reported as a 1mil difference in pay to the conference.
I said over and over on the main board that last year's bowl game vs Marshall was a rare exception where a bowl game felt like a post-season game because you could make-believe that the game was actually a fair reward for both school based on their seasons. This type of setup is obviously a rare anomaly, rather than the rule. It was an important game no doubt. I am talking about the bowl system as a whole with the pre-arranged matchups, they are less than meaningless.

Next year, with UT and NIU at Waldo, WMU will most likely be unanimous picks to win the West, and hopefully, finally, get that Long-awaited for championship.
This year, let's win a bowl game for once. That would be nice.

Why would you assume that? Consider, if the Broncos lose in the Glass Bowl, Fleck would be 0-3 against the Rockets. Toledo biggest question is the OL, they would have a year's experience and lose only 1 starter. Rockets will be loaded with talent. It's not as if the 8 or 9 core players in
WMU's recruiting classes will all of a sudden with out talent Toledo.

There's also the possibility that Fleck could leave after this season, even if WMU doesn't beat NIU or Toledo.

Which would go to show: somebody would be gullible enough to hire a HC that takes a historically 3rd/4th place MAC West team, dump your first season so to "turn it around" and leave the program in 3rd/4th place. It's the American way-BS rules. Nothing against the Broncos, its just what we've allowed ourselves to become-More Flash(No reference to KSU intended), Less Substance.

I'm assuming that's the reaction all the media types will have to 3 strong recruiting classes in a row and plenty of self-promotion....combined with getting NIU and UT at home.

Toledo will lose Russel, Zmolik, (maybe Ely), Hunt (If he leaves early for NFL), and Remy (4 RB). Toledo offensively shouldnt miss a beat in 2016... Depending on the maybe's. Defensively Toledo graduates a lot after this season if I am not mistaken?

Remy is a Jr. DL loses Jones and Covington and DB's Dukes, Norrils, etc but you still have Hester and Moore up front. UT is adding the DE/LB ND transfer for 2016. Rockets will be very good.

Longer than Toledo? It seems like it's been forever for the Rockets.

2000 they took it from under us, but Toledo has won since then. 2004 was our last outright MAC title. It feels long awaited for us because we've been so close for 5 seasons now. We salivate until NIU comes a long. WMU has had some nice seasons splashed in there too. Long awaited in both teams situations.

I thought the Rockets had had two since the Turn of the Millenium ... I think its been since the late 80's for WMU, the early 70's for Kent State, and the late 60's for OhioU.
